With the regular season coming to a close, we check out the top 5 passing leaders in the state this year!

Roosevelt Towns III- Southside

Roosevelt Towns III has had an insane season this fall, getting the job done through the air and on the ground as one of the state's most dominant dual-threat QBs. Through 10 games, Towns was fantastic, completing 68% of his passes for 3394 yards and 22 touchdowns while also rushing for a staggering 912 yards and 10 touchdowns. Towns has been able to elevate Southside's offense into becoming one of the best in the state, he and Southside WR [player_tooltip player_id='309868' first='Derick' last='Smith'] have developed great on-field chemistry that has led both to lead the state in passing and receiving respectively, which is absurd for a duo/offense to be able to achieve. Towns have been electric this season- his ability to make plays inside/outside of the pocket and the way he can outrun defenders makes him a true weapon to try and stop. Keep an eye on Towns and Southside this week as they take on Dadeville to kick off their postseason!

Andrew Hunter- Randolph

Andrew Hunter has been ridiculously productive and efficient this year for Randolph, to the point where Hunter has progressed into a seriously talented and reliable QB. Throughout 10 games, Hunter has completed 70% of his passes for 3082 yards and 37 touchdowns, while also putting up an additional 585 yards and 4 touchdowns on the ground- dominating defenses and leading Randolph to an 8-2 record. Hunter was terrific distributing the ball around evenly this year, as teammates WR Grayson Davenport and ATH [player_tooltip player_id='127802' first='Nic' last='Strong'] both ended up as two of the state's top 5 in receiving leaders.

Gabriel Benton- Benjamin Russell

Gabriel Benton has had a fantastic junior season this fall, leading Benjamin Russell to an 8-2 record on the season. Throughout the year, Benton has put up some great stats-completing 61% of his passes for 2595 yards and 29 touchdowns, with 245 yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground as well. Benton has a cannon of an arm on him, and he's put that on full display this fall- consistently delivering the ball to his targets with ease no matter where they are on the field. Benton has had a great season, keep track of him this postseason! He's sure to make keep making plays with how fast he has been progressing as a QB.

[player_tooltip player_id='127668' first='Cole' last='McCarty']-Moody

[player_tooltip player_id='127668' first='Cole' last='McCarty'] has continued to dominate teams this season just like he has done all throughout his career at Moody. McCarty has been incredibly efficient this season, completing 71% of his passes for 2482 yards and 34 touchdowns while also putting up 348 yards and 3 touchdowns. McCarty sees the field really well, makes the correct reads, and can deliver the ball quickly and accurately no matter the difficulty of the throw. McCarty also does a great job utilizing his mobility to escape the pocket to make plays on the move. Moody is definitely going to be a team to keep track of as the postseason begins- with McCarty under center plays are going to be made.

[player_tooltip player_id='127669' first='Giovanni' last='Lopez']- James Clemens

Gio Lopez has been a terrific playmaker in his time at James Clemens, and this season has been no exception. On the year, Lopez has completed 65% of his passes for 2312 yards and 17 touchdowns with 316 yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground as well. Lopez is a true dual threat and has been able to stretch the field and make plays with both his arm and his legs really well. Lopez has been really good at moving the chains this season, he plays really tough and is willing to do whatever it takes to make plays. Earlier this year, Lopez committed to South Alabama!

With the regular season coming to a close, we check out the top 5 passing leaders in the state this year!
