Archbishop Carroll and Bishop Ireton opened WCAC season play against one another over the weekend, and Carroll earned a dominant 42-14 victory. Let's take a closer look at a few of the top performers from Saturday's game.

2023 6'6 225 WR - [player_tooltip player_id='90682' first='Nyckoles' last='Harbor'] - Archbishop Carroll

Against Bishop Ireton, [player_tooltip player_id='90682' first='Nyckoles' last='Harbor'] proved exactly why he's the #1 overall ranked player in the 2023 class. Harbor only hauled in 2 receptions, but he earned 75 yards and 2 touchdown scores with those receptions. Harbor has maintained consistent dominance in the DMV area, and he's simply a mismatch for any defensive back that he faces. His efforts were paramount in Carroll's three touchdown win margin, and, with Harbor on the field, the Carroll Lions are currently one of the top teams in D.C. If the question is wide receiver then the answer is [player_tooltip player_id='90682' first='Nyckoles' last='Harbor'], and you can tune in to Harbor's next game on 10/22 when Carroll takes on St. Mary's Ryken as WCAC league play continues. Harbor is, without a doubt, one of the most elite uncommitted players in the entire nation.

2024 6'0 200 RB - [player_tooltip player_id='263144' first='Nasir' last='Smith'] - Archbishop Carroll

[player_tooltip player_id='263144' first='Nasir' last='Smith'] had a breakout performance running the football this past weekend against Bishop Ireton. Smith was named one of the players of the game, and he rushed 6 times for 39 yards and a touchdown. He also found great success receiving in this game, finishing the contest with a 46 yard touchdown reception. There's no substitute for great elusiveness and speed on the football field, and those are certainly two traits that Smith possesses. He'll look to expand on his great performance next weekend against St. Mary's Ryken @2PM Eastern.

2023 6'4 240 QB - [player_tooltip player_id='90668' first='Ty'Sean' last='Helm'] - Archbishop Carroll

[player_tooltip player_id='90668' first='Ty'Sean' last='Helm'] is a phenomenal dual-threat quarterback, and he continued to prove just that in Carroll's huge victory over Bishop Ireton last weekend. Helm was responsible for 3 total touchdowns in the contest, and he did so both through the air, in the pass game, and on the ground, in the rush attack. He was extremely efficient throwing the ball, as he went 3/5 with 132 yards and 2 touchdowns with a 143.8 overall QBR, and he also bulldozed his way into the end-zone for a score on a quarterback sneak on the one yard line. Helm's size and physicality will bode extremely well for his game at the next level, and there's no doubt in my mind that [player_tooltip player_id='90668' first='Ty'Sean' last='Helm'] has everything it takes to thrive in the college game. He's a spectacular athlete who knows the game extremely well, and, if you're looking for a great offensive leader and quintessential gritty football player then look no further than [player_tooltip player_id='90668' first='Ty'Sean' last='Helm'] of Archbishop Carroll. Helm and the Lions take on St. Mary's Ryken next weekend @2PM Eastern time in a critically important WCAC showdown.

2023 5'9 191 RB - [player_tooltip player_id='146616' first='Jamal' last='Mungo'] Jr - Archbishop Carroll

While [player_tooltip player_id='263144' first='Nasir' last='Smith'] saw an expanded role in the running game in this contest, there's still no question that [player_tooltip player_id='146616' first='Jamal' last='Mungo'] Jr is the lead back coming out of the backfield for the Carroll Lions. Mungo Jr led the Lions in carries, with 8 in the game, and he averaged about 10 yards per carry with those touches. He finished the contest with 82 yards and, while he didn't score, he broke free for a 47 yard run which was the longest overall for either team in the game. [player_tooltip player_id='146616' first='Jamal' last='Mungo'] Jr is a fundamental part of Carroll's offense, and he deserves a ton of credit for this team's success this season. Archbishop Carroll is one of the top overall teams in the District of Columbia, and they have another chance to prove just that next week in an away contest versus St. Mary's Ryken on 10/22 @2PM Eastern time.

2024 6'1 175 QB - Omar Diallo - Bishop Ireton

Omar Diallo established himself as an effective dual-threat quarterback in this game, as a large amount of his success came on the ground. He racked up more than 150 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries in this contest, and he also added 78 yards passing and a touchdown through the air. Even though Bishop Ireton fell short to Carroll, Diallo's standout performance should be very reassuring for the Cardinals' program, and there's no doubt in my mind that Bishop Ireton has a very bright future with Omar Diallo under center. He's only in his Junior season, and he has a chance to bounce back from last week's loss against St. Mary's Ryken tomorrow night @11AM Eastern time.

2026 6'2 170 WR - [player_tooltip player_id='1524281' first='Nick' last='Milewski'] - Bishop Ireton

Especially considering he's in the class of 2026, [player_tooltip player_id='1524281' first='Nick' last='Milewski'] put up amazing numbers against WCAC rivals Archbishop Carroll. He hauled in 2 catches for 35 yards and a touchdown, and displayed phenomenal athleticism during each reception. He clearly developed great chemistry with his quarterback, Omar Diallo, during the offseason, and this young quarterback-receiver tandem will only improve as the season moves forward. Milewski's play is at an impressive level right now, and the fact that he has three more seasons to gain experience and develop is truly exciting. Tune in to watch him and his Ireton squad tomorrow morning as they take on St. Mary's Ryken @11AM Eastern time.
