Located just 20 minutes southwest of Houston is the town of Stafford. The 4A program has hovered around .500 in recent seasons, but here in 2022, they have a chance to finish the regular season 7-3 with a win next week and earn a favorable first-round playoff matchup. They suffered a tough district loss to the Rueben Owens-led El Campo Ricebirds last night, but this is a team that can make some noise in the playoffs if they can get back to the winning ways they started the season with. This senior-laden squad is very talented, and in this article, we take a look at five playmakers that have been leading the way all year - four of whom have yet to receive their first offer.

S [player_tooltip player_id='276048' first='Javon' last='Rhodes'] - 6'1" 175 / @Rhodes_Javon

Rhodes is a safety with impressive speed who does a good job of reading quarterbacks and always being in the right place at the right time. He doesn't take plays off, and is a leader for the Spartan defense. He does have some areas to polish up, specifically coming downhill against the run, but there's no denying the tools are there. Has the potential to develop into a quality player for a smaller program.

CB Chase Williams - 6'1" 170 / @ChaseWill2304

Williams is a long, rangy corner who excels in man coverage. Smooth hips, stays low in his backpedal, and plays the ball very well, he is another one who has the potential to develop into a nice player for a smaller program. The motor never shuts off and he always plays hard. Will be a good pickup for the right program.

Speedster who runs a 10.8 in the 100m and a 21.5 in the 200m. Wants to play football and run track in college.

DB Braylen Collins - 5'10" 175 / @ATGBraylo

A hit stick in the secondary for the Spartans, Collins will be a steal for somebody. He lines up at safety on Friday nights, but will need to make the move to corner on the next level. What I love about him is that he closes quickly, both in the run game and on screens out in the flat. He also shows a nice ability to high point the football on deep balls when in coverage. Will be quite the pickup for somebody on signing day.

LB Dylland McClendon - 6'1" 210 / @DyllandM44

McClendon is a high upside, between the tackles thumper with an impressive frame. He doesn't take false steps and is also solid as a zone dropper versus the pass. What he does very well is fill gaps in the run game and make plays near the line of scrimmage. He will need to fill out a bit as a college freshman, and if he does, could very well become a quality starter for a smaller program.

DE [player_tooltip player_id='136148' first='Andrew' last='Huff'] - 6'3" 220 / @D1Huff

Senior Stats (thru 8 games): 7 forced fumbles and 4 sacks

Huff is a rockstar with a Division 1 future ahead of him. With a 4.5 40, mid-4.2 pro agility, and a nasty swim move, he's a prototypical edge rusher. Fires off the line and does a masterful job of blowing by offensive tackles in his pass rush. Click on the tape, and you'll see the skills. Has a couple of FCS offers, and will surely garner offers from some junior colleges in the state. If he goes that route, could very well develop into a Group of 5 player.
