High school football regular season games are coming close around the States, and the State playoffs are just around the corner. As we prepare for the playoffs’ big plays, I will publish critical players that need to be known by us football heads and, more importantly, the college coaches. Here is a list of players that you should know by now.
Aiden Cantu
Aiden Cantu
With this physical and nasty style of play, Aiden has slowly been gaining interest from coaches at the next level. I have known Aiden since he was a grade school athlete, and I can say that he also checks all of the character boxes. Cantu has accumulated over 50 pancakes on the season while helping his team by serving as an elected captain by his peers. With his footwork and drive to finish blocks, he will be on many college football recruiting boards this offseason—lots of room for him to improve, which is a good thing.
Film:
Cohen Hulbert
Cohen Hulbert
Cohen is a tackling machine and has stepped up for the Edon Bombers in a big way this fall. He has amounted to 98 tackles on the season and has added several touchdowns on offense; that’s impressive. The 6’1 sophomore has a great frame and already weighs 180 pounds. While he hasn’t dropped his season’s highlights yet, you can still see his potential in just a few clips. All eyes will be on the Bombers this week as the defending TACC champs will face Ottawa Hills in the 2022 version of the league championship. Hulbert’s older brother is currently a redshirt freshman at Tiffin University, giving you a look into his family pedigree; watch out for Cohen in the future.
Jackson Wiley
Jackson Wiley
One of the TOP playmakers in the 2025 class comes from a bloodline of an Ohio State Buckeye great, Michael Wiley. Jackson is a young budding star who can do it all and will have a breakout season next fall; trust and believe it! He catches the ball well and can make defenders miss in space. He was already holding one D1 offer. You can expect to see Jackson gaining more momentum from here on out. Exceptional talent and is a player to watch.
Austin Clay
Austin Clay
Austin had a massive game vs. North Ridgeville, which caught my attention. Clay is a smooth route runner and has a beautiful stride once he is in full motion. As you watch all 10 of his catches for over 150 yards, you see how productive he can be on all levels of the passing game. I will have my eye on the Olmsted Falls game here in week 10 to see if they can keep him involved, they will need all hands on deck in week 10.
Marcel Boyce Jr
Marcel Boyce Jr
Some players, you know right away that there will be a star, and then others are late bloomers. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being a late bloomer, but it gives a college coach a chance to mold you and develop you into what they would like. That’s what we have in this case. Marcel is a product of excellent coaching; good speed and footwork have allowed him to make plays continuously all season long and get better and better each week. You are looking for a hard-working Prospect with great hands and the ability to get open. You want to look deeper at this kid because he has some potential.
