Continue ReadingBrandon Valley had a rough start at times that they did not seem to shake off as the year went on and it showed as they did not finish with the best record and had fizzled out in the first round. This for most teams would be seen as a great season but for a team like Brandon Valley where winning the championship is the goal every single year, this was not the outcome that they hand wanted. They will be losing some key players as the season expires with their star QB in Lucas Slack Lucas Slack 6'1" | 190 lbs | QB Brandon Valley | 2023 State and one of their top wideouts in Nate Andresen Nate Andresen 6'4" | 195 lbs | WR Brandon Valley | 2023 State . Both of them have been key offensive pieces that allowed the offense to play great all year, and now they must look forward to the off-season and the net year more on. So, let’s take a look at some players that will be leaving and some players that I will be high on as they go into the next year.
Brandon Valley truly had a year that was full of curves and turns that they were not expecting and it was just facing tough opponents in an even tough class that led to them not getting the outcome that they were looking for. The biggest loss that they will be facing as they get out of this year was their offensive leader and dynamic QB in Lucas Slack Lucas Slack 6'1" | 190 lbs | QB Brandon Valley | 2023 State , so QB will be uncertain as to who will be getting snaps. One player that I am having my eye on right now is Dveyoun Bonwell-Witte Dveyoun Bonwell-Witte 6'2" | 180 lbs | WR Sioux Falls Washington | 2026 State SD and what he brings to the table as a dynamic receiver who can do a variety of things, from being a gadget player to a deep running route threat that can allow himself to get open with ease. It shows a high level of IQ and seeing him in action as just a sophomore will be interesting to see next year. Hudson Parliament Hudson Parliament 6'4" | 290 lbs | DL Brandon Valley | 2026 State SD is someone that I have covered before and he is quickly rising on my list of top prospects in all of South Dakota, quickly showing himself to be a key piece for his defense, and his ability to battle in the trenches is second to none with the level he has shown to play at. Preston Craig is another defensive piece that I think could make some noise next year, he is a talented defensive end who can explode off the edge with some great speed and even better swim moves that even some elite players have yet to master at a high level.
Brandon Valley is in a spot that they are not used to compared to the other times that they have had, of being at the top of the mountain where no one else can touch them. They are losing countless players that have led to all of their success and that means that they will be in a period of transition, but they in my view if some insane defensive talent prospects that are showing they can play at the college-ready level with their talent as well as their coachability on their field.
