- Brandon (6-0)
Petal was no match for the Dogs last week as they continue to hold the number 1 spot in the state. The Brandon offense is truly balanced and dangerous.
This week: @ Meridian
2. Ocean Springs (6-0)
The Greyhounds are averaging over 8 yards per carry for the season.
This week: vs. Pascagoula
3. Picayune (7-0)
The undefeated Maroon Tide move up a slot to number 3 this week after beating East Central last week. Picayune continues to be the class of 5A-South.
This week: vs. West Harrison
4. Tupelo (7-0)
Back to back headline wins for the Golden Wave over Oxford and Starkville have the boys from Tupelo comfortably inside the top 5. Big matchup at home this week!
This week: vs. Madison Central
5. Louisville (6-1)
Louisville cracks the top 5 for the first time this year. This has not been the same team since the close loss to Starkville in the non-division slate.
This week: vs. West Lauderdale
6. Clinton (4-2)
If you have not bought stock in the Arrows, now is the time to do so! Back to back 7 pt victories over Starkville and Madison Central allows for Clinton to leap into the top 10. The Arrows have scored 30 pts plus in each game since week one.
This week: @ Oxford
7. Madison Central (3-2)
The Jags lost a tight one to Clinton last week but have a huge opportunity to regain momentum with a win at undefeated Tupelo this week.
This week: @ Tupelo
8. Poplarville (6-1)
The Hornets have not scored less than 42 since August and the defense is giving up less than 10 ppg.
This week: @ Forrest County
9. Warren Central (5-1)
The most difficult part of the Vikings schedule is in the rear-view mirror. Can they run the table?
This week: @ Pearl
10. Itawamba AHS (7-0)
IAHS seems very undervalued at number 10. The Indians face a very manageable schedule down the stretch.
This week: vs. Corinth
