Aside from all the stars that will be performing, this is actually a monumental moment for Cass Tech’s playoff odds (which is absolutely shocking). Now, let’s get into the preview!
By the Numbers

On paper, King looks like the more impressive team by a longshot, and someone who doesn’t know MI football would immediately jump on them to win this game, but not so fast. During these teams’ regular-season matchup, King narrowly defeated Cass Tech 28-23 in what was an extremely exciting game. Both teams have immense talent on both sides, and both teams are absolute Michigan Blue Blood programs. This is going to be a sensational matchup. Now, let’s dive deeper into some of the key players.
Sadler has been the most well-known middle school star over the past few years, and he’s shown his powess on hte Varsity level already. He’s already a polished offensive weapon, being great as a receiver who can make anyone miss after the catch. On defense, he’s a lockdown DB who has great tape against some of the best talent out there. The only negative I can say is that he can be a tad timid when going in for tackles, but I’m not worried about that at all. With offers from Michigan and Michigan State, Sadler is Michigan’s top freshman.
Needless to say, I’m looking for Sadler to have a sensational game against King. He played extremely well during his first game against them, but if Cass Tech is going to win, Sadler needs to show us why he’s one of the nation’s top freshmen.
Dante Moore Dante Moore 6’2″ | 210 lbs | QB Detroit King | 2023 State MI is the face of King, and without him, King isn’t in the championship conversation. The Oregon commit has risen to extreme highs over the past few weeks, with many outlets regarding him as the top recruit in the nation, rising above Arch Manning. Despite a stumble against Warren Central, Moore has played lights-out football and looks to lead King to another trophy win.
Cass Tech’s QB is one that isn’t talked about as much as other QBs from big-name schools. Mumpfield is in the shadows a bit, but he’s an excellent player with a top-tier DII offer from Ferris State. If the senior wants to prove himself further, a win against King would go an extremely long way. If Cass Tech is going to win, they need a much better offensive performance than last time, and that starts with Mumpfield.

Cass Tech has an incredible front 7, and Michigan State Commit Johnathan Slack Johnathan Slack 6’3″ | 260 lbs | OL Detroit King | 2023 State MI has a high task in defending his QB. If Slack plays well against Tech’s stars, King has a much better chance at victory.
Highlights
All in all, this is an amazing opportunity for both programs to show what they’re made of. No doubt this will be a game with an extremely high media presence, as well as fan turnout and college scouts watching on. If you end up watching this game, I highly recommend getting a roster and scouting out the best young talent from both teams, because chances are, there’s NFL talent on both sides.
