This is our opportunity to take a look at what kind of season both the team and the players are having.

Rogers Mounties

The Rogers Mounties have started to put the rest of the 7-A West on notice. Fresh off a victory over the Fayetteville Bulldogs, the Mounties have opened conference play in strong fashion. The 7-A West has a reputation of being one of the toughest conferences in the state and this season is not disappointing one bit. The matchup with Bentonville West has the potential to be a shootout this Friday night. Here are a few Mounties that have been lighting up the Friday nights over the past few weeks.

The Mounties' receiving corps is a talented one. A prospect to watch out for over the next two seasons is [player_tooltip player_id='248892' first='Mabry' last='Verser']. Verser does an excellent job of getting open and uses his smooth route running to create separation from opposing defensive backs. Meanwhile, Verser has the speed to leave defensive backs behind him when he kicks it into a second gear. He has had a terrific first half of the season and it would not surprise me to see him earn all-state honors with his play this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='393021' first='Dane' last='Williams']-Quarterback-Rogers-2024

The Rogers signal caller does everything asked of him in the Mounties offense. Williams throws and impressive deep and intermediate ball. He is able to fit the ball into some tight windows. Williams does a great job of spreading the ball around to his wide receivers. The trait that does not get enough credit is his ability to use his legs to pick up yards on the ground. The Mounties have the potential to be a team that makes a deep playoff run this season.

Lake Hamilton Wolves

Over the past few years, the Lake Hamilton Wolves have played some classic football games against teams like Greenwood and Little Rock Parkview. It comes as no surprise that the Wolves are off to another strong start this season. The Wolves are 6-0 on the season and they host Greenbrier this Friday night. Impressive wins over Mountain Home and Little Rock Christian have opened plenty of eyes this season. The Wolves are a team to watch out for as the postseason begins to loom closer.

[player_tooltip player_id='223617' first='Justin' last='Crutchmer']-Running Back-Lake Hamilton-2023

One of the most versatile players in the class of 2023 is [player_tooltip player_id='223617' first='Justin' last='Crutchmer']. He has lined up all over the field for the Wolves and punched the ball in the end zone 11 times. Crutchmer is difficult to bring down when running the football. He has the ability to run through opposing defenders or run around them. Crutchmer has displayed an ability to catch the ball and cause plenty of headaches for opposing defensive backs in the process. Crutchmer is having a strong 2022 season and is a prospect to watch out for in the playoffs.

[player_tooltip player_id='465102' first='Easton' last='Hurley']-Quarterback-Lake Hamilton-2024 [player_tooltip player_id='465102' first='Easton' last='Hurley'] does a great job running the Lake Hamilton offense. The Wolves mix a strong rushing attack with a precise rushing attack. Hurley does a good job of running the football and does a good job of knowing when to pitch or hand off to his running backs. Hurley has a strong arm and is an accurate passer. He is impressive at being able to fit the ball into his receivers. Hurley is a prospect to watch out for over the next couple of seasons. Keep an eye on Lake Hamilton, the Wolves have the potential for a playoff run this season.
