6. Manheim Central (8-0)
Mid-Season Standout
rocco daugherty
rocco daugherty
A rock in the front seven, Rocco Daugherty serves as Manheim Central’s thumper and leader at the linebacker position. Daugherty’s value will be felt on offense as well, providing valuable reps at the HB/FB/TE. The kid can lead block for backs, he himself can tote the rock if need be. He can catch passes out of the backfield, he can align inside at TE, run routes, and catch balls. Plugging in the tape, you get a sense of the player you’re getting early on. A versatile, do-it-all prospect, one coaches like to call a “football player”. I’m unsure of his size, which will factor into where he plays at the next level, I do imagine his reps at LB are good enough to have him recruited to that position. Hope to add him to the rankings.
7. Pope John Paul II (8-0)
Mid-Season Standout
Nyzir Lake
Nyzir Lake
Here’s a new name and a stud on a team no one seems to be talking about. A diamond in the rough, Nyzir Lake is a name I will be throwing out to coaches this Fall, his tape might surprise some. We list him at offensive line, Lake is just as proficient along the defensive line as he is on the offensive side of the ball. His size at 6’3, 245-pounds insists that he might translate to the defensive side of the football. His Upper Merion tape has him alternating between TFLs and pancakes between plays. I’m excited to see a full round-up of his best reps soon, would like to share it with those that recruit in Eastern PA.
8. Lampeter-Strasburg (7-1)
Mid-Season Standout
Luke Hines Luke Hines 6’2″ | 210 lbs | DL Lampeter-Strasburg | 2023 State PA deserves a boost on our ranks, his midseason tape proves it. Through six games, Hines is flashing an awesome blend of discipline and energy. The senior has a motor to his name, he provides a ton of energy when sacking or pressuring the QB, same when he brings down BCs in the backfield. Hines wants to win with power yet is nimble enough to finesse his way through gaps if guards fall asleep. The discipline side of his game shows up in the run defense. He can be trusted to set the edge, stand up his matchup, or stay home against RPOs. Tough player.
9. Meadville (7-1)
Mid-Season Standout
Speed. Playmaker. Khalon Simmons Khalon Simmons 5’10” | 170 lbs | RB Meadville | 2023 State PA boasts a whopping 14-minute midseason tape. If you’re game-planning against Meadville, you’ll lose sleep attempting to contain this explosive senior. The type of offensive weapon that can align anywhere and provide instant offense. Jet-sweeps, pre-snap motions, screens, anyway Meadville can cook up easy touches for this kid, you’ll see it on display Friday nights. What’s special is Simmons doesn’t necessarily need smoke and mirrors to stand out. His vision and acceleration combo when running outside the tackles is special. Take a look at his tape below.
10. Armstrong (7-1)
Mid-Season Standout
Isaiah Brown Isaiah Brown 6’2″ | 200 lbs | WR Armstrong | 2024 State PA , who looked good at our camp this past Spring, is flexing his muscles as the main target for Cadin Olsen Cadin Olsen 6’5″ | 225 lbs | QB Armstrong | 2023 State PA . The 500 yards of offense and 10 touchdowns are great, we are well aware of how special Brown is at wideout. What’s impressed me thus far is what he’s provided Armstrong with on the defensive side of the field. If he keeps this level of production up, we might have to consider changing his position to “ATH”. The 11.5 TFLs, the 35 tackles, all of this defensive production should do wonders for his stock amongst his suitors at the next level.
