Although the first half wasn't pretty for the Tommies defense, the defensive spark of middle linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='313137' first='Derrick' last='Hogan'] was the biggest bright spot I could find from the first half.

From a measurables perspective, he wasn't the biggest kid out there, but I loved Derrick's physicality level when he made contact with the ball carrier on the multiple plays I watched out of him in that first half of play.

He also had an impressive quarterback hurry that showed off just how much range this young man can cover, as the tape from the game showed a wide base of coverage area he could work in.

Derrick also got excellent leverage as a fullback-type blocker on the left outside edge where the ball was going, as he played with a heck of an amount of heart that drove the defender downhill and far away from his ball carrier. I could see this kid as a good linebacker with that physicality in the MIAC or WIAC in the coming years.

With the number of botched snaps, the Tommies had to deal with in the first half; we had to wait until the second half to see the 6'1, 215-pound quarterback of the Tommies, Emmanus Williams, have that full dose of offensive athleticism come out.

What did he do with that athleticism? He showed some fluid speed on his QB escape to the edge, where he found the endzone in the end.

Defensively, Emmanus shows off some good swim moves in the trenches based on his early season tape, and the emphasis he puts on those moves yet again shows some sturdy strength when getting off his blockers.

Lamar's skillsets that I saw in the backfield for the Tommies certainly have some unique traits, in a great way which is why I labeled him as an athlete from last Thursday night versus the Knighthawks

He hasn't posted his tape against St. Paul Harding-Humboldt yet, but Lamar shows off some sneaky running ability on the later downs that if you watched the tape from a few weeks back against Northside rival Minneapolis Patrick Henry asyou would enjoy just how quick he pops out out of transition with his agile skillsets while running the football.

His tape shows off a prospect that will give it his all for his teammates no matter where he lines up in the Tommies offense, especially as a run-blocker as he has that block till the whistle is blown demeanor I love to see especially at his main tight end position he labels himself as on Hudl.

[player_tooltip player_id='313138' first='Andrew' last='Rose'], OL/DL, Minneapolis Edison (2023)

I have gotten to a ton of games this season live and in-person and I don't think any prospect in Minnesota or the Dakotas has topped Minneapolis Edison OL [player_tooltip player_id='313138' first='Andrew' last='Rose'] with the leverage and pad-level he showed off last Thursday night against St. Paul Harding-Humboldt.

All night long he was disruptive against a defensive linemen that brought significantly bigger size than he had but it was the physicality that Andrew brought to the table that allowed him to win several battles and get his fair share of pancakes on the Knighthawks defensive line as he graded in my eyes the highest out of all the Tommies offensive line.

Andrew also showed the extension to explode on his blocks out of his stance off his first step into the next level and use his strong angle blocks to continue to grow on getting full leverage of his defender with a smooth and determined pad-level.

If you have read my stuff by now when I grade offensive linemen that I love a finisher on the offensive line and Andrew did that a handful of times on his blocks.

I would love to see this young man get some opportunities at the next level as his 6'1 265 pound frame with the physicality he brings grades out as a sound Division II or III prospect that could be a great asset to the MIAC or WIAC next year.

Tremayne Graham, RB/DB, Minneapolis Edison (2024)

Tremayne has some great hard-nosed running ability in his arsenal it doesn't matter if that is in the return game or in the Tommies rushing attack, this young man certainly has some scoot in his burst.

He also shows some solid vision between the tackles and shows the patience to hit the hole when his offensive line gives him the space to get separation as a north-south runner in which his good explosion to the outside shows off some strong dividends when you evaluate his tape.

He has some good agile moves he can use and I believe for this junior that should be a skillset he develops over the duration of his junior season into the summer as his stock rises for the next-level which I believe Tremayne has a college football future playing on Saturdays. He shows some great durability on first contact and that should pay dividends for him going forward in his high school career.
