Midseason Houston High School Team CBS & Safeties

We're nearing the end of the high school football season in Houston, Texas. There are a ton of promising athletes here in Houston I decided to build an offense and defense team built 2up of these promising athletes. I will be discussing my defensive linebacker picks for my defensive team.

CB: Lamar High School Christopher Boykin Jr 5'10 175 lbs

Christopher Boykins is a phenomenal cornerback. At Lamar, they run a man coverage defense Chris is always sticking close to the opposing receivers paying close attention to their movements and checking to see when the quarterback is throwing the ball. I can tell that Chris is always watching the wide receiver's waist to tell where they would be heading and stopping them leading to many pass deflections and interceptions.

CB: North Shore High School [player_tooltip player_id='281645' first='Devin' last='Sanchez'] So 6'2 180 lbs

It is extremely rare to see such a tall and long limbs cornerback like [player_tooltip player_id='281645' first='Devin' last='Sanchez']. Devin is incredibly quick and fast providing a no-fly zone not allowing any passes to come through. Devin in his sophomore year is already a 5-star athlete overwhelming every wide receiver he has faced. When I interviewed Devin he told me “I went to North Shore because they fit my play style of defense and man coverage.” Devin also felt extremely excited about his game-winning interception against Atascocita and 1st interception of the season. Devin is a 5-star athlete os a top college prospect catching the attention of numerous amount of colleges and universities from; the University of Texas San Antonio, the University of Southern California, the University of Alabama, Michigan State University, The University of Oklahoma, and the University of Texas to name a few.

S: Paetow High School Christian Hurd Sr 5'10 190 lbs

Christian Hurd is an amazing defensive back/safety. Christian can play either position, but to start I will have him out as a free safety. Christian provides good coverage and knows how to properly cover in a zone defense. Even if the receiver caught the pass Christian would instantly bring him down allowing little positive gain. Christian had a great read and positioning preventing a pass that would have been in the end zone and intercepting the pass himself and running it down for a 91-yard pick-six touchdown. Christian's current stats this season for 6 games recorded are 22 total tackles and 1 interception with a touchdown.

S: Katy High School [player_tooltip player_id='258583' first='Johnathan' last='Hall'] Sr 6'2 205 lbs

[player_tooltip player_id='258583' first='Johnathan' last='Hall'] has a lot of stand-out traits as a defensive free safety and strong safety. Johnathan is always aggressive, quick, decisive, and has impeccable tackling form. Johnathan as the safety would move up and be up close and involved in the action. Johnathan has progressed so much from last season and this season he is a top college prospect having numerous college and university offers from; Texas Tech University, Texas Christian University University of Arizona, Baylor University, Duke University, University of Houston, and Purdue University to name a few
