I was on the sidelines for the Week 8 matchup between Leesville Road and Cardinal Gibbons. The winner of the game between two ranked teams would the frontrunner to win the conference. John was under constant pressure throughout the game and was unable to generate much offense with his passing ability. He displayed the ability to tuck it and run to gain yards while under pressure. DJ displayed toughness and quickness while running inside to gain tough yardage. He followed blockers while looking for an opening to accelerate past defenders for positive gains. Brock displayed good technique and footwork to control defenders while opening lanes for the running backs. He used his upper body strength and quickness to drive-block defenders out of the play. Whitt displayed calmness in the pocket while directing the offense. He displayed a quick release on his passes with good ball velocity. Whitt completed 18 of 21 passes for 253 yards and 2 TDs. He completed 85 percent of his passes. Whitt delivered accurate short-range passes on target throughout the game. Chet had 7 receptions for 153 yards and 2 TDs. Nick and Chet were able to consistently to dominate the defensive backs in man-coverage throughout the game.
