Help Those Affected By Hurricane Ian
When all is said and done, what happened this past week in the state of Florida will be one of the worst natural disasters to ever hit this state.
When Hurricane Ian made landfall as a Category 4 storm on Sept. 28, delivering 150-mph winds, heavy rain, and a massive storm surge, it was one of the most powerful storms to ever hit Florida and claimed dozens of lives.
With 155 mile per hour sustained winds, the storm rearranged the landscape of this western coast of the Sunshine State changed forever – with loss of life and property taking center stage.
As the storm came ashore with high winds and flooding, it affected millions more on a path through central Florida, Orlando and into the northeast region – with more tornadoes and flooding, leaving millions without power and hundreds of thousands with damage to home and property.
While football and other sports were played in some areas, it became secondary in most of Florida, which is a true hotbed for talent.
While schools were used as shelters, facilities were severely damaged and it put the remainder of the 2022 athletic season in jeopardy.
With so many families not having a place to live, sports has become something that is on the back burner.
What is a priority is food, water, clothing, supplies to survive and money that will help in the major recovery.
As in many cases, when there are disasters, people take advantage and use this as a time when they can scam those who are vulnerable and in need of help and major assistance.
Prep Redzone Florida will make sure that those who are out to scam people will not succeed as we will continue to post organizations who are out to help and assist in a positive way.
We are going to run a list of those who are collecting items and money that will go immediately to those who need the help throughout the state.
