Landon says his drive is his love for the game and his competitiveness to be the best he can be. His individual goals is to be the best teammate and one of the best cornerbacks in the conference. His team goal is to win a State Championship. His leadership is being their for his teammates when needed. Landon is also the punter for Greenwood.
The other starting cornerback is Sophomore Isaiah Arrington Isaiah Arrington 5'11" | 170 lbs | WR Greenwood | 2025 State AR who also plays receiver on offense. Landons cornerback coach Travis Sandifer says he has been one of the key players at cornerback. He says Landon is a long kid that can be very physical.
Brady Mackey is a 5’10, 170 pound Junior Safety who loves to hit. His strengths are man coverage and defending the run. Brady says that he is encouraged by his teammates. His personal goals are to reach triple digits in tackles and 5 interceptions. His team goal is a State Championship.
Brady’s specialties are reading the run and his open field tackling. He says his favorite coverages are cover 2 and man to man. Brady says his transition from linebacker to safety has been good as he is able to read coverages better and his IQ as a safety. He says the transition for him has been easier with the help from Senior linebacker Evan Williams Evan Williams 6'2" | 215 lbs | LB Greenwood | 2023 State AR and Junior cornerback Landon Nelms.
Safety Coach Steven Thessing says Brady has done really well with the transition from linebacker to safety. He said he has put a lot of time in learning the safety position. Coach Thessing said he has a lot of football instincts and an eye for the football. He goes fast all of the time and has exceeded the coaches expectations.
