Fontus was routinely making plays in and around the backfield as the Erasmus Hall offense attempted to get into a rhythm. Fontus, a Maryland commit, showed why he is such a high-level recruit with his play today. While his size help him dominate I was impressed by his hand placement off the snap and his willingness to play physical on plays away from the ball. Overall, a solid showing for Fontus against a solid Erasmus Hall offensive line.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":["not_in_db"],"_player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_1_player_details_selected_featured_image":"","_player_evaluations_1_player_details_selected_featured_image":"field_62cca28ffa4e7","player_evaluations_1_player_details_player_name":"Nikai Brown","_player_evaluations_1_player_details_player_name":"field_62aba4c9ecf2f","player_evaluations_1_player_details_graduating_class":"2023","_player_evaluations_1_player_details_graduating_class":"field_62aba4ddecf30","player_evaluations_1_player_details_height":"5'11u0022","_player_evaluations_1_player_details_height":"field_62aba4e8ecf31","player_evaluations_1_player_details_position":"2411","_player_evaluations_1_player_details_position":"field_62aba4f0ecf32","player_evaluations_1_player_details_school":"Canarsie","_player_evaluations_1_player_details_school":"field_62aba4fdecf33","player_evaluations_1_player_details_club_team":"","_player_evaluations_1_player_details_club_team":"field_62d20e723441a","player_evaluations_1_player_details":"","_player_evaluations_1_player_details":"field_62aba4afecf2e","player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"Nikai Brown was one of the bright spots for a Canarsie offense that struggled to move the ball throughout most of the game. Brown's highlight game on an 86 yard touchdown where he showed off his elite speed. Brown had a few other key catches on the evening and showed really solid ability as a route runner getting open on multiple occasions.","_player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_2_player":["233606"],"_player_evaluations_2_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"The play of the game for Canarsie came from [player_tooltip player_id='233606' first='Jean' last='Louis III'] who made an incredible leaping catch over two Erasmus Hall defensive backs. Louis turned the under-thrown pass that could have been intercepted into a highlight reel Touchdown for Canarsie. It was Louis III's only major involvement in the game as the Canarsie coaching staff and quarterback largely left him on an island against Erasmus Hall corner [player_tooltip player_id='232927' first='Catrell' last='White'] and failed to target him on multiple opportunities. Although Louis III had minimal involvement his one play was the most impressive on the evening.","_player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_3_player":["251862"],"_player_evaluations_3_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"[player_tooltip player_id='251862' first='Seth' last='Ulett'] had a really solid showing against a great Canarsie defensive line. Erasmus Hall relied on the run game throughout the afternoon and I found they had the most success when running to Ulett's side. Ulett had the tough task of often going against other top performer [player_tooltip player_id='229890' first='Dillan' last='Fontus']. From what I saw no one did a better job blocking Fontus than Ulett. Sure Fontus won some reps but I cam away really impressed with Ulett's ability to push and secure blocks on such a dominant Canarsie front.","_player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_4_player":["251535"],"_player_evaluations_4_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"What was said for Ulett could be duplicated for [player_tooltip player_id='251535' first='Carmello' last='Michel'] who plays left guard next to Ulett. They both had really solid games holding up in pass protection and opening up holes. They are responsible for the massive hole on the long touchdown run by Zaire Andrews that opened up the scoring for Erasmus Hall. Michel was really good and I cam away most impressed with his ability to move both laterally and to the second level.","_player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_5_player":["237036"],"_player_evaluations_5_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_5_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_5_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_5_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_5_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_5_evaluation":"[player_tooltip player_id='237036' first='Dwayne' last='Schulters Jr.'] had two of the biggest defensive plays for Canarsie and is one of the main reasons Erasmus Hall could never get their air attack going. Schulters Jr. had an incredible read on a screen by Erasmus Hall blowing the play up and forcing a fumble which was recovered by Canarsie. Schulters Jr. showed throughout the game really good instincts and athleticism to react on those instincts. Schulters Jr. had another great play when he had a pass breakup on the much taller Samuel Lyrick of Erasmus Hall in the endzone on 4th down. Schulters Jr. had a really solid game and made plays when it mattered most.","_player_evaluations_5_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_6_not_in_database":["not_in_db"],"_player_evaluations_6_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_6_player_details_selected_featured_image":"","_player_evaluations_6_player_details_selected_featured_image":"field_62cca28ffa4e7","player_evaluations_6_player_details_player_name":"Josira Andrews","_player_evaluations_6_player_details_player_name":"field_62aba4c9ecf2f","player_evaluations_6_player_details_graduating_class":"2024","_player_evaluations_6_player_details_graduating_class":"field_62aba4ddecf30","player_evaluations_6_player_details_height":"5'10u0022","_player_evaluations_6_player_details_height":"field_62aba4e8ecf31","player_evaluations_6_player_details_position":"2495","_player_evaluations_6_player_details_position":"field_62aba4f0ecf32","player_evaluations_6_player_details_school":"Erasmus Hall","_player_evaluations_6_player_details_school":"field_62aba4fdecf33","player_evaluations_6_player_details_club_team":"","_player_evaluations_6_player_details_club_team":"field_62d20e723441a","player_evaluations_6_player_details":"","_player_evaluations_6_player_details":"field_62aba4afecf2e","player_evaluations_6_evaluation":"Josira Andrews had the play of the day for Erasmus Hall, in the third quarter Andrews jumped a short hitch route by one of the Canarsie receivers, intercepted the pass, then returned it for a touchdown. If not for Colclough's pass breakup Canarsie would have started the second half with the lead and who knows how the game would have finished then. Colclough also contributed on offense with a touchdown run in the Redzone.
