Emerging Defensive Prospects

With the 2022 season halfway done, I'm doing a spotlight weekly rushing leaders analysis throughout the season for every Classification/District/Region in Florida. There are a lot of young talented prospects and several sleeper prospects that could start getting looks for the next level. Prep Redzone Florida will always promote everybody in hopes of them getting the opportunity of playing college football at the next level. Dwann McCray, LB/ATH- Crystal River High c/o 23   6'2 190lbs   McCray has definitely been a bright spot defensively for the Crystal River Pirates. Through five games this season he's registered a team leading 65 total tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, and a force fumble. He's averaging over 13 tackles a game with 44 solo tackles. His athleticism is also used on the offensive side of the ball where he has 31 carries for 191 yards and one touchdown. He has one 100 yd rushing game and averaging over 6 yards per attempt. Barnhill has been a playmaker and is second on the team in tackles through five games registering 62 total tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, 6 sacks, 10 QB hurries and 2 forced fumbles! He's a nice athlete coaches need to check out ASAP. Through five games the junior is second on the team with 60 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, one sack, and one fumble recovery. Carter is a prospect with potential and is a player to watch out for the rest of the season. He's been a key contributor to a Tiger's team that's 4-2 through six games. He excels on both sides of the ball and on offense is leading the team with 542 yards rushing, averaging 7.3 yards per carry with seven touchdowns and three 100 yard rushing games. He's just as good on the defensive side of the ball and is leading the team with 57 total tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and a forced fumble. Very good Prospect whose stock is rising and picked up his first offer from Florida A&M in March.
