2023 Prospects to Watch in the Playoffs

The high school football playoffs in the state of Arkansas are fast approaching. With plenty of talented teams that have clinched playoff spots, we are going to look at a few prospects to pay attention to in the playoffs. The class of 2023 is loaded with talented prospects that will light up the Friday night skies in November. Here are some prospects to watch out over the next few weeks in the state playoffs.   [player_tooltip player_id='91987' first='Cedric' last='Hawkins']-Running Back-Stuttgart-5'8” 170-Pounds   The Stuttgart running back has had a strong high school career that I expect him to continue at the next level. Over the past two games, Hawkins has put up the numbers on the ground. He has rushed for 356 yards and six touchdowns. Meanwhile, he was also on the receiving end of one touchdown pass. Hawkins is clicking on all cylinders, and it would not surprise me to see him have a strong playoff this season.   [player_tooltip player_id='91975' first='CJ' last='Turner']-Linebacker-Star City-6'2” 200-Pounds   [player_tooltip player_id='91975' first='CJ' last='Turner'] has seen work on both sides of the ball this season. The future Colorado Buffalo has had a fantastic season for Star City this season. On the defensive side of the ball, Turner is a linebacker that can terrorize the opponents rushing attack. He does a great job of pressuring the quarterback and can cause the opposing quarterback to make mistakes. Meanwhile, on the offensive side of the ball he is a beast when it comes to running the football. Turner has the opportunity to close out his high school career in impressive fashion in the playoffs.   [player_tooltip player_id='369871' first='Hunt' last='Harrison']-Linebacker-Pulaski Academy-6'1” 223-Pounds   The Bruins has talented prospects all over the field. Pulaski Academy enters the contest against Greenwood undefeated on the season. Linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='369871' first='Hunt' last='Harrison'] is having a terrific season for the Bruins this season. Harrison uses his speed well and does an impressive job of playing in the opposing offensive backfield. He does a great job of wrapping up the ball carrier and is a linebacker that can pick off passes as well. Harrison will be a prospect to watch out for in the playoffs this season.   [player_tooltip player_id='123974' first='Christopher' last='Young']-Running Back-Newport-5'8” 175-Pounds   The Newport Greyhounds are a team that I expect to see in the playoffs, provided they take care of business the next two weeks. Running back [player_tooltip player_id='123974' first='Christopher' last='Young'] has had a terrific season for the Greyhounds. He has terrific speed and is dangerous once he makes a cut and gets into the open field. Young is a running back that is a dangerous receiver out of the backfield, and it would not shock me to see him playing on Saturdays in the future.   [player_tooltip player_id='75135' first='Carston' last='Poole']-Quarterback-Prescott-6'2” 180-Pounds   The Curley Wolves are undefeated as the playoffs approach. [player_tooltip player_id='75135' first='Carston' last='Poole'] has had an impressive high school football career and a great season. He is a prospect that can hurt you running or throwing the football. Poole throws the ball with accuracy and uses his legs well to extend plays. He is a prospect I expect to have a big close to his high school career. Look for a strong playoff performance from Poole this season.
