The Knights' senior put up a huge second half, rushing for 85 yards and two touchdowns and throwing for another 70 after the break, leading West Florence to a come-from-behind victory against a Myrtle Beach team West has never beaten.

For a kid who entered the game having already rushed for 548 yards and six touchdowns while passing for another 593 and eight scores, this felt like one of those defining types of wins in a year-and-a-half as the starting quarterback.

Hudson led a second-half scoring drive of 80 yards to help close what had been an 11-point deficit toward the end of the third quarter - a series in which he scamped into the end zone from 11 yards out. Then, after a Myrtle Beach punt on the ensuing drive, Hudson was at it again, leading a 63-yard drive in which he hit a receiver for 47 yards and then found the end zone again, this time from 14 yards away.

THE ONE-TWO PUNCH

Before Hudson started doing his thing, West's offense was all about Darren Lloyd.

The senior topped 100 yards on the ground with 3 minutes left in the second quarter and ended the game with 183, a touchdown and a two-point conversion run.

It was his fourth 100-yard game of the season for the 6-0 Knights.

OTHER WEST FLORENCE STANDOUTS

About the 47-yard reception?

That was caught by a streaking Bryson Graves, a junior who had his coming out party against Myrtle Beach.

In West's first five games, Graves had caught all of four passes for 36 yards. On Wednesday, he hauled in three receptions for 78 yards. Technically, all three plays led to first downs (two directly, the third included a personal foul penalty).

Knights defensive back Tyler Brantley (pictured) made the defensive play of the game when he stripped the ball from Myrtle Beach receiver [player_tooltip player_id='272701' first='John' last='Simmons'] at the goal line with under a minute to go. The refs deemed that Simmons did not break the plane before Brantley popped it out of Simmons' hands and then snagged it out of the air.

Nashaun Frison got into the turnover game when he forced a [player_tooltip player_id='402500' first='Malachi' last='Washington'] fumble in the second quarter. After the change of possession, Lloyd punched in a seven-yard touchdown.

FROM MYRTLE BEACH

Seahawks quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='58826' first='Trey' last='Dunn'] - more known for his running ability - ended the game 15-of-19 for 130 yards. He also rushed 10 times for 87 yards and a score.

In the fourth quarter alone, receiver Kenny Brown caught four passes for 64 yards.

Linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='336149' first='Mike' last='Gillard'] was prevalent throughout. He had two QB hurries, two tackles for loss and several open-field tackles that would have led to huge offensive plays.
