After 6 weeks of football, Rutledge has continued to separate himself from other players in the state, as he has already totaled 79 tackles this season, with an average of 13.2 tackles a game. To add to this, he has had a large chunk of his tackles come from assists. To be exact, he has had 41 assists, and 38 solo tackles. Out of all of these tackles, 7 of them have been for a loss, resulting in big momentum plays for his team. In addition to this, Rutledge also has had 2.5 sacks on the year, proving how versatile of a MLB that he is. Expect him to continue to be a huge asset for his defense in the coming weeks as he has already been.

Just as you could expect, Lavallee has continued to keep his name on this list, as he has had a very high level of production after 4 games this season. After only 4 games, Lavallee has found himself with 73 tackles. Out of these tackles, 49 of them have been solos, with 24 of them coming from assists. In addition to this, he has had plenty of production in the backfield, as he has caused 9 tackles for a loss, and 3 sacks during his time on the field. Because he is one of the more talented backers, and rushers in the state, expect this number to continue to drastically climb, putting him in a place to potentially find himself at the top of this list when it is all said and done.

, who has played in 5 games rather than 4, but has had a high level of production in each of these games. In just 5 games, Jackson has had 71 total tackles, with 46 of them being solo tackles. In addition to this, he also had 25 assists. When it was all said and done, out of all of these tackles, Jackson saw himself with about 8 tackles for a loss, and 5 sacks, only further proving how dominant he is. Moving into the rest of the season, look for his team’s success to be largely predicated on his production.
Darius Wells- Montgomery County
After 5 games, Wells has managed to keep at a steady pace with tackles. At this point of the season, he has averaged around 13.4 tackles a game, and has found himself with more solo tackles, then tackles for a loss. TO be specific, Wells currently sits at 40 solo tackles, and 27 assists. With this, he has also had 2 tackles for a loss, which have been very impactful for his team. If he wants to continue to be on this list, he will have to have a few big games in the latter half of the year, as the players beneath him on this list are pretty close to him statistically.
John Thornton- St. Anne-Pacelli
Thornton, just like Wells, has 67 total tackles this year, but has done so in 6 games, rather than 5. In each of these games, Thornton has been a key factor to his defense’s success, and has seen himself with an average of 11.2 tackles a game. With this, he has also totaled 52 solo tackles, and 15 assists. This in itself is a huge upside, as it is a direct reflection of his personal production, and contributions to his team. WIth this, Thornton has also seen himself with a tackle for a loss, which can be seen to be huge for his team at times.
