Jeremy Schleicher Jeremy Schleicher 6'3" | 275 lbs | OL Bishop Miege | 2024 State KS , 6’4 260 PRZ JR OL1
These are two of the best underclassmen prospects in the state, with both having legitimate high end ability, and they’ll be looking to throw down a marker on Friday night when they line up across from each other. Stueve has very good upper body strength for a sophomore, as well as quick and active hands, and does a good job stacking and disengaging in the run game. He also possesses a sneaky explosive first step, making him a legitimate pass rush threat and a threat to blow up plays in the backfield because of his ability to stay clean. Schleicher has excellent length, and heavy hands that allow him to jar his opponent at the point of attack. He is very quick off the snap and being a natural knee bender, sets his base in a blink. Schleicher’s ability to win quickly allows him to show off his strength and agility and erase his assignment clean from the play once engaged. Stueve will need to use his hand quickness and lateral agility to keep his opponent off balance, and prevent Schleicher from getting clean contact on him, as the Bishop Miege junior has the strength/size advantage.
Alonzo Morgan Alonzo Morgan 5'10" | 170 lbs | DB Blue Valley North | 2023 State KS (Blue Valley North) VS Dylan Dunn Dylan Dunn 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB Blue Valley SW | 2024 State KS (Blue Valley SW)
Alonzo Morgan Alonzo Morgan 5'10" | 170 lbs | DB Blue Valley North | 2023 State KS , 5’10 165 PRZ SR DB1
Dylan Dunn Dylan Dunn 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB Blue Valley SW | 2024 State KS , 6’3 180 PRZ JR QB3
When the dust settles on the Kansas 2023 QB class, Dylan Dunn Dylan Dunn 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB Blue Valley SW | 2024 State KS will be one of the prospects headlining the next senior class. He has ideal size, above average arm strength that should only improve, and accuracy. Where Dunn really stands out however is his ability to throw with anticipation and timing, with utter assuredness. When he has time, Dunn can sit back and dissect a defense with his vision and accuracy. Alonzo Morgan Alonzo Morgan 5'10" | 170 lbs | DB Blue Valley North | 2023 State KS one of the best defensive prospects in the state, and lines up all over the secondary for the Mustangs, but predominantly at free safety, allowing him to use explosiveness and length to erase passing windows in a blink. He also has very good ball skills and the instincts to anticipate where the ball is going, and beat receivers to a spot, which is what makes this matchup so intriguing. Dunn will need to account for where Morgan is lined up on every play, and not allow himself to be bated into seeing windows that aren’t there.
Tyrell Reed Tyrell Reed 5'10" | 190 lbs | RB Lawrence | 2023 State KS (Lawrence) VS Diego Juarez (Shawnee Mission North)
Tyrell Reed Tyrell Reed 5'10" | 190 lbs | RB Lawrence | 2023 State KS , 5’10 190 PRZ SR RB6
Diego Juarez, 5’6 187 Unranked Sr LB
Last season at Highland Park, Reed was absolutely electric, gaining 884 yards on just 73 carries, as well an average of 16 yards per catch on his 19 receptions. He is not only a threat to score every time he touches the ball, but he’s also a physical runner, with a well-developed lower body, low center of gravity and excellent contact balance. To add to this, Reed has flashed some creativity, and the ability to see secondary rushing lanes. Across from him this Friday will be a pit bull waiting to attack everything that moves. Juarez is fearless and aggressive playing his mike position, eluding blockers by taking advantage of his height and quickness, out maneuvering opposing linemen with excellent lateral quickness and pad level, similarly to how smaller running backs can hide in between their blockers, and are too quick for bigger defenders to get clean contact on. These are two explosive and physical players that want to attack downhill. Reed is at his most dangerous when he can plant his foot in the ground and go, while Juarez wants to use his downhill burst and clean up plays in the backfield. Expect some fireworks Friday night when they go head to head.
