Jordan Young
Jordan Young
Young has turned heads as a sophomore with four-straight 100-yard performances. In each of those games, he’s had at least one 50-plus yard touchdown and can absolutely fly. Teams know he’s going to try to get over the top and still cannot stop him. He’ll have plenty of time to continue to develop over the next few years.
Sterling Greene
Sterling Greene
Greene has been Mr. Steady this season, picking up at least five catches and a touchdown in every game so far this season. Olympic has relied on him in some key moments during its impressive 5-0 start. As he enters conference play, expect defenses to focus on him. I’d still expect him to get open, though.
Ryan Bassani
Ryan Bassani
North Lincoln’s season hasn’t gone the way it hoped, but Bassani has been a bright spot. The sophomore is averaging nearly 16 tackles a game and has at least two for loss in every game so far, including four in his last outing. He’s been around the ball a lot and has forced a fumble as well this season.
Curtis Simpson
Curtis Simpson
Simpson has been a one-man wrecking crew this season, picking up multiple sacks in four of five games he’s played. In his last outing, a 56-0 win, he had only four tackles, but all four were for loss. Simpson is now second in the state with 13 sacks on the season.
Dionte Neal
Dionte Neal
Neal had a quietly strong start to his high school career in his first few weeks as a freshman but there’s nothing quiet about what he’s done recently. Neal has sole possession of first place with six interceptions in six games and has scored three times in his last two games as a receiver. He’s a guy we’re watching for the next few years because if he continues to grow, he could be a great college prospect.
