<p>Week four of the 2022 football season in the Charleston area of the Lowcountry produced high level performances from every key position on the field on Sept. 16. Here's a look at the best of the best.</p>

<p>In the passing department, Baptist Hill's 2024 [player_tooltip player_id='340393' first='Harold' last='Gathers'] continues to post gaudy numbers through the air. In a win over Allendale-Fairfax, Gathers completed 19-of-23 passes for 294 yards and three touchdowns. On the receiving end of those passes was [player_tooltip player_id='336153' first='Kevin' last='Townsend'], who had 130 yards receiving and two scores while adding 149 rushing yards and two more touchdowns.</p>

<p>Hanahan 2025 [player_tooltip player_id='367350' first='Jaden' last='Cummings'] led his team back from a 16-0 deficit with a strong second half, throwing for 117 yards and scoring twice on short runs in the win.</p>

<p>On the eight-man football level, Holly Hill Academy junior <strong>Tyree James</strong>, who plays quarterback and defensive back, rushed for 235 yards and four touchdowns, and also returned an interception for a score in a 60-34 win over Richard Winn Academy.</p>

<p>James' cousin and teammate, 2023 running back <strong>Tyler Wright</strong>, added 284 rushing yards and two touchdowns while also returning a kick for a score. He also had eight tackles and blocked an extra point on the defensive side of the ball.</p>

<p>Cane Bay knocked James Island (#9 in 4A) from the unbeaten ranks with a 31-28 win. 2024 running back [player_tooltip player_id='372771' first='TJ' last='Wright'] rushed for 194 yards and three scores to lead a rushing attack that produced 312 yards.</p>

<p>Linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='146380' first='Cameron' last='Avery'] (2023) led the Cane Bay defensive effort with 13 tackles and three tackles for loss.</p>

<p>2023 placekicker<strong> Lawson Thorn</strong> booted a game-winning 29-yard field goal in the Cane Bay win. Thorn also averaged 39 yards per punt, including a 60-yarder, converted all four of extra-point kicks, and four of his kickoffs reached the end zone.</p>

<p>James Island's 2024 kicker/punter [player_tooltip player_id='91354' first='Coleman' last='Franzone'] also had a great night with his foot. Franzone averaged 42.3 yards on five punts, converted all four of his extra-point kicks, and also had four touchbacks on kickoffs.</p>

<p>Ashley Ridge 2023 linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='263162' first='Christian' last='Garland'] tallied 14 total tackles in a win over St. James. His teammate, running back <strong>Chris Simmons</strong>, rushed for 146 yards and two touchdowns.</p>
