There are MANY, MANY offensive lineman who could be put on this list. I am listing the players who’s stat line stood out, who people recommended but most importantly, only players who either I watched live or was able to watch highlights from their specific game. For the best chance to be featured, send me your weekly film on twitter. My handle is “@DevinRecord”, please don’t have any hard feelings if you weren’t included.
Danny is an absolute BEAST! Danny is one of the strongest offensive lineman I’ve seen and showed that week one against Puyallup HS. He had several pancakes, always protecting his QB. He holds up the right side of the line very well, so well that it seems like QB Jake Schakel Jake Schakel 6’1″ | 195 lbs | QB Emerald Ridge | 2024 State WA has all the time in the world. His hand placement was spot on all night long. His lateral foot movement really impressed me, he looked extremely agile. He will continue to have a big season for Emerald-Ridge and will likely be mentioned a couple times throughout the year.
Benjamin Cardot
Benjamin Cardot
Benjamin has great size at 6’3” 285 pounds. He has just the right build to play the RT position and hold down the right half of the line, which he did last week in week 1. Cardot demonstrated his ability to pull and effectively make holes for his running backs in many different situations. He held his blocks all the way through till the red blew the whistle, as every offensive lineman should do. Pass protection, he was just as solid. He consistently kept his QB protected so he could have time to find the correct receiver who’s open. He’ll be a name to continue to keep an eye on all season.
WF West is a sneaky team to watch this season in the 2A class and it’s offensive line looked extremely solid in week 1. Matagi, senior offensive lineman caught my eye when watching film. Standing at 6’1” 280 pounds, he has a very solid body for the position. Playing the right guard position, he finished his blocks through the end and showed his ability to pull blocks over and keep his center of gravity solid. His foot work was good and he showed off his athleticism for his size as well. He performed well on defense too, getting to the QB often, collecting a sack on the night.
Jacob Brown
Jacob Brown
Highline had a huge week 1 victory over Steliacoom, 51-0. A big part of the teams big win was the offensive line opening up gaps for the running backs and protecting the QB throughout the whole game. Jacob was an absolute force all night long for Highline. He finished his blocks all the way through the whistle, like every offensive lineman should do. He pancaked many defensive lineman throughout the night, rarely letting anyone by him. His hand placement was spot on and his footwork looked like it was in mid-season from. Brown will continue to be a name to watch in the 2A class.
Kai Holec
Kai Holec
O’Dea was off to a little slow start in their week 1 game against Bothell, but they opened the 2nd half firing as star running back Jason Brown Jason Brown 5’10” | 205 lbs | ATH ODea | 2024 State WA exploded for 2 touchdowns in the third quarter. The reasoning for him being able to break those? The O’Dea offensive line. They are stacked from left to right but Kai Holec stands out being 6’8″ and being as athletic as someone 4 inches shorter. He lined up at both guard positions throughout the night and was excellent wherever he lined up. He held blocks easily throughout the game, showing off his strength as well. His balance is what stood out to me, he was able to drive his center of gravity forward with ease and was not able to be pushed back at all. Kai will only continue to perfect his craft.
