The goal of the Under the Radar (UTR) Series is to highlight hidden gems at certain positions in Mississippi football. The UTR Series will illuminate a path by introducing prospects whom have had little to no exposure, or who may have just simply, flown under the radar. The prospects mentioned below are student-athletes who all share a few commonalities. They all have the will to win and have very bright futures ahead of them. Here are some guys to be on the lookout for this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='350937' first='Bryce' last='Warriner'] is a talented young quarterback that has a high ceiling based off of what he has put on tape so far this season. The Sophomore out of Tri-County Academy is a young gunner that has the holy trinity of the attributes that most coaches want to see these days out of QBs: Arm strength, Accuracy, and a Quick Processor. With that being said, Warriner's arm talent is well above par of what you see form the average 15 year old quarterback. His tape displays the ability to make throws that stretch the football vertically downfield seamlessly. Bryce can also pin point passes to place them where he wants on short and intermediate throws. Bryce's best ball's are his deep strikes down the field. I was impressed by the accuracy he possesses to be able to place his throw's over the shoulder, back shoulder, or up top. When completing passes of 20 yards or more the ball just comes out of Warriner's hands smoother but with increased velocity. The mechanics and footwork are there too, but could be polished just a bit. I'm sure over time that he will be more technologically sound than he is currently. [player_tooltip player_id='350937' first='Bryce' last='Warriner']'s stats for the season are indicative of what his future holds for the 2025 prospect. He is off to a good start so far, and on the backend of the season, I want to see if he can sustain this level of productivity and fervor to propel Tri-County to the playoffs.

Larry Patrick | 2024 ATH | Forest | 5'11 180

This talented back out of Forest is slowly gaining ground as a prospective recruit out of the 2024 class. He has snaps this season at RB, QB, & slot, but his main position is at running back. Larry is a twitchy back that can take any run the distance, lower his shoulder, and also catch passes out of the backfield. On the year he has already rushed for 12 TDs and has amassed 750+ yards rushing. He has speed that translates to elusively and directly correlates with his ability to get in and out of cuts without losing speed. Larry will be great player once he figures out how to the defensive box. Often he relies on sure will and athleticism to make the explosive runs that he's had. So far, Patrick is averaging over 7 yards a carry and we are just at the halfway mark in the season. On defense Larry plays OLB and Safety, where he is a constant contributor for the Bearcats up to this point. With district rolling around, I'm sure that Patrick's productivity will spike, even relative to the gaudy numbers he's already put up. Larry Patrick will become a more polished back in the near future, and gain notoriety while doing so. Look out for the name Larry Patrick in the coming weeks/months.

Denym Mitchell | 2024 DB | Madison Central | 6'0 170

Loose hips, quick feet, the ability to stop on a dime, and acceleration that can get him up to top speed within a few steps. These are a few of the attributes I recorded that stood out while watching Denym Mitchell's tape. Mr.Mitchell is a good looking defensive back out of Madison Central. He is a prosect that plays the CB position with great technique and appropriate aggressiveness. The 2024 recruit has the build of most collegiate Corners as a Junior in high school. Denym noves well and can run with most of the wide-outs he's faced. Effort allows him to make plays on the defensive side of that ball that are game-changing. Mitchell impressed me with his eye-popping athletic ability and how hard he plays. Right now he is a do it all cornerback with a lot of potential and upside to his game. Denym covers the offense with fine technique, but also with a loose nature. His natural athleticism and innate feel for the game allows him to read, assess, and react to the movement and mannerisms of receivers. Denym is a willing tackler that consistently gets ball-carriers to the ground when need be. I was definitely impressed by how big of a threat he can be in run support. Over time, Denym Mitchell will turn into a DB that can make quarterbacks weary of throwing his way. Remember Denym Mitchell's name!

Elijah Lowery | 2025 OL | West Point | 6'5 245

Elijah Lowery is a bright young talent produced by the West Point Green Wave from the 2025 class. The Sophomore is a raw prospect that appears to have the intangibles that make up a good offensive lineman. Elijah plays hard, he's physical, and he has grit. Though the action that I've seen him apart of has been limited, he looks too be physically imposing his will on most defenders. I would like to see him really focus in on playing with leverage and technique each and every snap. Once he figures that out and how to use his body to move people he will be a force to be reckoned with. The biggest thing with Elijah moving forward is to work on being consistently impregnable to defensive linemen. Lowery is going to be a force as late bloomer that turns heads here in the near future. He is only a sophomore, so I'm looking forward to see his career pan out.
