On Friday, September 9th, 2022 I went to Delmar Stadium to see The Lamar Texans vs The Clear Fall Knights. At the beginning of the game, Clear Fall took the lead in the 1st quarter with two quick touchdowns. However, before the second half, Lamar was able to catch back up by scoring two touchdowns themselves. Then during the second half, the game went back and forth leading to the 1st overtime I have seen this season. It was a hard-fought battle between both teams, but Clear Fall was able to kick a field goal attaining victory with a final score of 31-28. Although, Lamar lost they still had the better athletes overall. In this article, I'll be discussing Lamar's offensive standouts.

#12 Kenneth Rosenthal QB Sr 6'1 195 lbs

Kenneth Rosenthal has a keen eye for scoring and won't waste an opportunity to take the lead. kenneth had a stellar game against The Clear Falls Knights. Kenneth as a quarterback was skilled at passing, but his strong suit was his ability to be mobile and scramble. The majority of the time Kenneth ran the ball in a Qb draw or ran down the field when he couldn't find a proper target. Kenneth was mobile enough to score all the three offensive touchdowns by running them in himself.

#22 Justin Howard RB, WR Jr 5'10 165 lbs

I was looking forward to seeing Justin Howard play after viewing him at one of the football camps I manage. While Justin was attending my camp I can tell he was quick and fast even when he was a freshman. While on the field Justin was showcasing his speed in the running back and wide receiver positions. Justin has the speed to trip up any defenders, but he will need to improve his catching to be a better wide receiver. Justin ended the game with a total of 70 all-purpose yards.

#4 [player_tooltip player_id='1421316' first='Brandon' last='Thomas'] WR, RB So 5'8 165 lbs

[player_tooltip player_id='1421316' first='Brandon' last='Thomas'] is a new addition to The Lamar Texans varsity roster and doesn't disappoint. Brandon is incredibly fast especially when he was in the running back position. Besides quarterback, Kenneth Rosenthal Brandon had the most offensive yards. Brandon as a newcomer will make a big name for himself in the next couple of years and become one of the essential weapons for The Lamar Texans offense.

#5 Tristen Brown WR Jr 5'10 175 lbs

Tristen Brown didn't stand out a lot to me at first because he didn't get many chances to catch the ball as a wide receiver. However, everyone saw when Tristen returned a kickoff to the end zone for a touchdown. It was a clutch play since Lamar was down by a touchdown with one minute left in the game. Justin's touchdown resulted in Lamar going into overtime and kept them in the game.
