Both teams are just coming off their bye week, therefore they’re fully rested and ready for this game. Both teams have highly ranked athletes in the state of Texas I was ready for a great game. It was in the beginning, but towards the 2nd quarter and 2nd, half Cypress Ranch had all the momentum and couldn’t be stopped. The final score of the game was 49-17 ending in a Cypress Ranch victory. Cypress Ranch has numerous amount of standouts on both sides of the ball I’ll be discussing athletes on defense in this article.
Cypress Wood Offense
#12 Myles West RB, FS, SB Sr 5’11 195 lbs
Myles West is a Grade A running back. Myles was playing extremely well considering how much of a threat Cypress Ranch’s defense is. Myles was constantly running through the right path and zoomed down the field. Myles is tough and durable being able to break tackles and being difficult to bring down. Myles also had a mean stiff arm I felt disrespected when he pushed down defenders. Myles was trying his best to carry his team to victory being the sole player to get any touchdowns for Cypress Woods. Myles finished the game with 24 carries, 115 rushing yards, and two touchdowns.
Cypress Wood Defense
#99 Terrance Green DE, TE Sr 6’5 265 lbs
Terrance Green is a massive body and prominent player on the Cypress Woods defense. Terrance is a powerful defensive end plowing his way through the offensive line and getting into the backfield. Terrance would make clutch plays shutting out the running back and quarterback even on the one-yard line. If Terrance could play like that the whole game and work on his stamina he would become unstoppable. Terrance is a top college prospect catching the attention of numerous amount of colleges and universities, but the college he chose to commit to was The University of Oregon. Terrance finished the night with 5 overall tackles.
#14 Dylan Rogers MLB Sr 6’3 230 lbs and #15 Juan Rojas MLB Sr 6’2 210 lbs
Both these middle linebackers came out to play Friday night Dylan Rogers and Juan Rojas. Dylan and Juan were both aggressive linebackers every tackle was either one or both of them being involved in it. Both linebackers were great at blitzing and attacking the edge Dylan in particular had terrific tackling form. In one play Dylan blitzed from the edge and sacked the quarterback his hit was hard enough to knock off Cypress Ranch’s quarterback’s helmet. With these two linebackers running the ball would be extremely difficult, unfortunately, Cypress Ranch mainly threw the ball. Dylan Roger’s stats this game were 6 total tackles and one sack and Juan Rojas’ stats this game was 8 total tackles and one sack.
