Prep Redzone has all the details below…
Jack Polhill – Trinity Christian
An impressive receiver out of small-town Dublin, Polhill is an athletic 6-foot-2 170-pounder who hasn’t been stopped so far this year. A sure-handed receiver who is excellent after the catch, Polhill is coming off a solid week four where he caught 7 passes for 148 receiving yards in a tough loss to Bulloch County. Polhill has over 100 yards of receiving in all four games so far this season with games of 142, 147, 134 and 148 yards so far this season. He has a lean frame and the speed and explosiveness to blow by receivers down the field. He’s an excellent vertical threat but can help in the screen and short passing game as well. So far this season, Polhill has caught 24 passes for 571 yards and four touchdowns.
Brady Kluse – Harrison
One of the more underrated senior receivers across the state, Kluse showed why he’s one of the best receivers in Cobb County last weekend in a tough loss to Denmark, catching 12 passes for 211 yards and two touchdowns. He has a length frame at 6-foot-3 185-pounds with excellent ball skills and big-play ability. He’s been a touchdown machine so far this year, finding the endzone 7 times so far through his first four games. He’s a promising route runner, he can create separation, and knows how to bring down a tough catch in traffic. So far this season, Kluse has caught 28 passes for 558 yards and 7 touchdowns. He’s one of the top receivers in the area and proving it more and more each week.
Ricky Johnson – Houston County
A big-play receiver in Middle Georgia, Johnson is a quick, twitchy receiver who was playing on a different level last weekend in a win over Locust Grove, Johnson only caught 4 passes in the win, but scored three touchdowns and had 202 yards receiving. He shows reliable hands, but his ability to elude defenders after the catch has made him a breakout receiver in the area. He shows great burst and speed after the catch, so if there’s room to run, he’d going to out-run defenders to the endzone. He’s been a reliable go-to option for the quarterback Antwan Hill Jr this year and has helped the Bears to score 57+ points in their last three games. So far this season, Johnson has caught 21 passes for 448 yards and 6 touchdowns.
Kedric Lackey – Decatur
A big-play receiver with plenty of size at 6-foot-4 180-pounds, Lackey has caught a ton of passes this year, but when he does, he makes them count. He’s a terrific blocker in the run game, but his length and ball skills have made him a great option in the middle of the field and in the red-zone. He can jump over defenders to bring down a jump-ball and has strong enough hands to make a catch in traffic. He can use his length and size to his advantage and could see more and more passes come his way as the year goes on. He’s caught 16 passes this year for 446 yards and 4 touchdowns, averaging an outstanding 28 yards per reception. Good things happen when the ball comes his way, and that should happen more and more each week.
