Myers was stopping just about anyone in his this past week and played like no one could stop him, which in this game, no one could truly stop him. He was a great force and was dominant in just about every aspect of the game. He tallied great amounts of tackles to start in this game which was mainly done by stuffing the run and making it impossible for Sioux Falls Roosevelt to get just about anything going. He was all over them and this was due to his IQ along with his sheer strength to blow by anyone that even tried to stop him. Most impressively in his team's win, this past week was his whopping 4.5 sacks, which just shows how much ease he had as a whole overpowering the offensive line that tried to stop him in his tracks. He did just about everything in this game and it was not a surprise to see how valuable he was to his team it was a pleasure to watch this trench warrior master his craft on the field.

[player_tooltip player_id='289595' first='Trey' last='Lewis'] - DB, Pierre TF Riggs

Lewis was hawking anyone that dared come to his area on the field and was lockdown the entire game with the level of production that he had shown to us on the field. What Lewis put on the field was a great performance as a DB and showed us why he is someone you need to pay attention to and why his talent is nothing to scoff at. He had a total of 4 tackles adding on a tackle for a loss which made this as a defensive back something that you do not see every day, he provided versatility and the ability to play him in just about anyways. Most importantly he was great in coverage in both schemes of man and zone, which allowed him to cover just about anyone that he matched up with with ease. Tack on an interception which is the first of the year for him, he had a fantastic performance and locked down the Mitchell passing game and forced the ball to be put on the ground, allowing the run defense for Pierre to secure the win.

[player_tooltip player_id='223096' first='Jack' last='Merkwan'] - WR, Pierre TF Riggs

Merkwan was on another planet this game and I am sure there was one thing going through his head, no one can guard me today and they simply could. Merkwan used his size to get above defenders and catch passes where some players cannot get even close to, and he showed us just how talented he is. 212 yards seems like just another day at the office for Merkwan but this was not like every other day, he had tallied this overwhelming total of yards in just a matter of 5 catches. If you do the math on that is an insane 42.4 yards per catch and that does not do justice to what Merkwan did in this game. Tacked on with a receiving touchdown to boot, he was just great in every sense of the word in the production that he put on the field. He drew so much attention and drew defenders to him to Pierre could laser in on other wideouts to create a solid and stable passing game. Merkwan threw down some great blocks for his team and was a joy to watch play, his production is not slowing down anytime soon and with his connection with [player_tooltip player_id='56570' first='Lincoln' last='Kienholz'], Merkwan is showing himself to be one of, if not one of the best wide receivers that South Dakota has to offer, making him the South Dakota Saturday Player of the Game.

[player_tooltip player_id='56545' first='Taylen' last='Ashley'] - QB, Sioux Falls Jefferson

Ashley played great in his team's third straight win and was no thanks to the performance that he had put on at the QB position. He was game managing great and his IQ was on display in this game and was a big part in helping his team simply for how smart he is when he is slinging the pig skin at the level that he can do. 178 yards passing is a great game for a team that had a run-centric offense at times and was making great plays within those passes all game. He did not have the most yards but what he did do was connect with his receivers and make his receivers all feel like they were playing a key part in the game plan. Add on three passing touchdowns and this was something that you should expect of the fast and talented Ashley as the season goes on.
