Starkville vs Madison Central Week 5 9/23/22

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Starkville Yellowjackets are coming off of a hard fought win against the Louisville Wildcats. This is one of the best games that we have seen so far this season. Madison Central is coming off of a bye week. They definitely are going to watch this tape and see how Louisville held Starkville to their least amount of total yards this season. Let's take a look at this game.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2><strong>Starkville </strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Yellowjackets learned something that I think we already knew. They have the ability to run the football. That is what they will need to do this week. Their receivers were taking a lot of blows last week and they probably could use some rest. [player_tooltip player_id='273258' first='Trey' last='Petty'] also was taking some heat. I think it would be good to get some of that heat off of Trey. I think they should let those talented backs carry the load for them this week. These guys have a great offense and I'm sure they will find ways to make it happen. Courtland Cooper and [player_tooltip player_id='340821' first='Jaylon' last='York'] are two guys to look out for this week. We all know [player_tooltip player_id='139597' first='Braylon' last='Burnside'] will be doing what he does.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Starkville defense is coming off that great game they had against Louisville. These guys are very vicious. Tony Lucious and Jon David Methvin are two guys that get after it. Eric Thomas definitely does his part on defense as well. He is a big playmaker for them. Lucious and JD Methvin add a lot of pressure as well. Brandon Short is a tall cornerback who holds down things in their passing defense. They also use [player_tooltip player_id='139597' first='Braylon' last='Burnside'] on that side to help them. They have a lot of playmakers on offense that know how to do their thing. DeAndre Pullen is a monster when he is toting the rock. [player_tooltip player_id='108979' first='Isaiah' last='Spencer'] is a big time playmaker on islands and is getting a lot of attention in recruiting. He just received his first power 5 offer this week from Georgia Tech. They have [player_tooltip player_id='139634' first='Joe' last='Koury'] on the offensive line who is a leader. He is a stud on their defense who loves to stick his head in opponents' business. He is an aggressive hitter who is ready to meet this rushing attack. Denym Mitchell is a very good defensive back and is going to have his hands heavy this week. Starkville knows how to get the ball going in the air.
