<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>South Panola vs Clarksdale is one of the oldest rivalries the state has seen. When they were both 5A in 80s and early 90s they used to battle all the time. A lot of great games have come from this rivalry. A lot of good talent have come from these teams. Who do yall think will be victorious? Let's talk about it.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2><strong>Clarksdale</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Clarksdale has always been known to be a hard nosed running team. They like to wear the clock down on offense while slowly moving up the field. Their rushing game isn't a speed rushing game. They like to line up and run over people. They were doing it when I was in school and they still are. It's in their DNA.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='107043' first='Kelley' last='Jones'] will be the man on offense. They love to run the ball with their QB. He has scampered for 50 plus yards with TDs this season. Kelley brings a big spark to their offense. You always have to be accountable for him.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Clarksdale has been a defensive minded school since the 80s. This year is no different. They have a defensive line that knows to create pressure. Their defensive line has some size and speed. They know how to get after it when they are at war with their opponents. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Their secondary plays fast and don't mind hitting. [player_tooltip player_id='364337' first='Patrick' last='Broomfield'] is a corner for them receiving a lot of attention since Sept 1st. He is a 2024 player that you need to keep up with. [player_tooltip player_id='107043' first='Kelley' last='Jones'] shines on defense just like he does on offense. He will be playing safety for the Wildcats as well.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2><strong>South Panola</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I'm a writer that likes to keep up with each school's fan base. South Panola fans want this game bad. South Panola is used to being a championship program. They haven't held up the gold ball since 2014. This game is going to be a test for them.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>South Panola knows how to put the ball on the ground too. [player_tooltip player_id='106164' first='D'Mariun' last='Perteet'] is a force to be reckoned with. The 3 ⭐️ RB has speed and size. At 200lbs it isn't bringing him down. He also can catch the ball out of the backfield. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='346336' first='Michael' last='Johnson'] is a big receiver that keeps the chains moving for them on third down. He is a possession receiver that is a big target. He doesn't mind going across the middle and sacrificing his body for the football.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>JuJu Pope is another guy that totes the rock for them out of the backfield. They have high hopes for this player. He is the shifty guy that can catch screens and hit the edge when they need him to. He will take that load off of Dee Perteet.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Their defense has some good players who will be making plays. [player_tooltip player_id='107014' first='Montrell' last='Chapman'] is a big LB that also blitz off the edge for them. JuJu Pope also helps out a lot on defense. He is a major impact in their passing defense. Marcus House Jr knows how to step up and make big plays when his team needs him.
