PRZ MS Noteworthy Performances from Week 3

Damarcco Blanton | 2023 ATH | 6'0 175 | Natchez   Week 3 Statistics: 7 Rec / 127 Yards / 3 TDs   Blanton's overall performance from Week 3 was nothing short of sensational. Despite his 3 TD performance, Natchez dropped the game to to Lawrence County 43-30. This gave the Bulldogs their first loss of the season, but it was an exceptional performance from Damarcco that we have became accustomed to seeing from him. Damarcco displayed his ability to block and route run in his outing, however, I was most impressed by his deceptive speed, wide catch radius, and YAC ability. He was responsible for 18 of Natchez's 30 points last week, as he scored 3 touchdowns and converted a 2pt conversion. The majority of these scores came in the final quarter of the game. Natchez scored 24 points in the 4th in an effort to make a late game comeback, but Lawrence Co. prevailed scoring 13 points in the 4th as well. The Natchez Bulldogs face off against the Hazlehurst Indians next week and their talented Defense. Blanton will need to have a similar type of showing in order for Natchez to secure a victory and avoid falling to .500.     [player_tooltip player_id='314148' first='Jermell' last='Chaney'] | 2024 LB | 6'3 215 | Collins   Week 3 Statistics: 12 Tkls / 4 TFL / 1 FF / 1 FR   [player_tooltip player_id='314148' first='Jermell' last='Chaney'] is a talented linebacker out of the class of '24 whom is off to a blazing start in his first 3 games. He is playing out of his mind, and his stat line prove it! Through week 3 Jermell has amassed (38 tackles, 10 TFL, 1 INT (Pick 6), and 2 FF (1 FR)). The young linebacker is a stat sheet stuffer with exceptional size, speed, and athleticism. The best part of his game on tape are his instincts and his ability to sift through trash to make plays. Last week Collins faced Mt.Olive, and Chaney was a constant contributor for the tigers in that contest. Despite Chaney's efforts, Collins fell short in a closely contested battle 16-14 to Mt.Olive. With this loss Collins fell to 0-3 on the season. Next week the Tigers face Magee at the Trojan's house. This is a game that is a must win for Collins, so I expect Chaney to one-up his performance and efforts from the previous week.     Larry Patrick | 2024 ATH | 5'11 180 | Forest   Week 3 Statistics: 185 Yards / 3 TDs / 3 tkls / 1 PD   The Larry Patrick show was in full affect last week as Forest took on Kemper County at home. The Bearcats were able to get the victory over the Wildcats 32-22 in large part to the outing by Patrick. This 2024 RB has a very high ceiling, and is only beginning to scratch the surface of what he can do offensively. Larry is a speed threat that has taken snaps at RB, QB, WR, Slot, SS, OLB, and also as a return specialist. Last week in a mud-bowl type of game, Patrick was able to rush for 185 yards and 3 scores to help Forest elevate for a much needed win over Kemper County. In the first 3 games of his Junior campaign, Larry Patrick has rushed for over 180 yards in each contest. As the season goes on look out for this kid, as he is sure to become one of the best offensive weapons in the 3A South! Next week Forest travels to Northeast Lauderdale to face the 2-1 Trojans. I'm overly-eager to see if Patrick can continue this trend of bludgeoning defenses with his speed and productivity.     [player_tooltip player_id='340739' first='Omarion' last='Blakes'] | 2023 ATH | 6'0 185 | McEvans   Week 3 Statistics: 3 TDs / 125 Yards / 2 INTs / 3 tackles   [player_tooltip player_id='340739' first='Omarion' last='Blakes'] was able to have his way last week in McEvans' 32-6 win over Rosa Fort HS. Blakes put together one of the most impressive individual performances for Week 3 throughout the entire magnolia state. He was responsible for 3 of McEvans' scores and also created 2 turnovers for his defense. Omarion's motor and athleticism are simply utter-worldly. The 2023 ATH has lined up a TE, WR, QB, SS, and even as a return specialist for McEvans this season. He lines up and for than 4 positions true.. But I was more impressed with how big of an impact he was able to make at each of these positions. Omarion is extremely twitchy and the 4.5 40 speed he possesses translates well onto he playing field. He is a dynamic play-maker who is versatile enough to play multiple positions on all three phases of the game. Offensively, Blakes has scored 3 touchdowns a piece in his first 3 games of his Senior campaign. Omarion is on pace to have over 30 touchdowns this season, and he will likely surpass that margin. Next week the 3-0 McEvans Warriors will face 1-2 Humphreys County; a game I'm sure they are looking to win and keep their winning streak alive.     [player_tooltip player_id='340869' first='Chris' last='Brown'] | 2023 DE/DL | 6'2 250 | Callaway   Week 3 Statistics: 9Tkls /6 TFL / 1 Sack / 8 QBH   Mr.Brown is an impressive prospective recruit out of the 2023 class that has something to prove this year in his last ride! He has received attention from several Power 5 programs, and this year Chris is looking to show them he is worth an offer, not just consideration. Brown is most effective in obvious passing down's, where he creates mismatches for larger or smaller offensive linemen with speed and his skillset. Last week versus rival Provine, Chris and the Chargers of Callaway were able to capture a win 22-14. Brown had a monster of a game totaling 9 tackles, 6 tackles for loss, a sack, and 8 hurries. This performance, coupled with another notable performance from his teammate (Kedarius Wade), propelled the Chargers to a rivalry win, a district win, and also a 3-0 start to the season. For Week 4, the Chargers will face Canton in another district contest. This will be another opportunity for [player_tooltip player_id='340869' first='Chris' last='Brown'] to display his talents, while assisting his defense and team secure another victory.
