As always, we are going to look at some teams as well as some prospects that have lit up the Friday night skies over the past few weeks. It has been a great few weeks of the season, lets take a look at what we have learned.
Arkadelphia Badgers
Donovan Whitten Donovan Whitten 6'3" | 220 lbs | QB Arkadelphia | 2023 State AR -Quarterback-6’3” 220-Pounds-2023
The Arkadelphia Badgers signal caller has been on a tremendous roll this season. With Donovan Whitten Donovan Whitten 6'3" | 220 lbs | QB Arkadelphia | 2023 State AR ‘s hot start, the Badgers have started off the season 3-0. In the three games to start the season, Whitten has accounted for 929 total yards and 11 touchdowns. Whitten has the ability to fit the ball into some tight windows and throw his wide receivers open. He is a prospect that can and will hurt you with his legs when he runs with the football.
Max Wilson Max Wilson 6'2" | 250 lbs | LB Arkadelphia | 2023 State AR -Defensive Line-6’2” 250-Pounds-2023
Arkadelphia is a team that is loaded with talented prospects on both sides of the ball. Max Wilson Max Wilson 6'2" | 250 lbs | LB Arkadelphia | 2023 State AR is an edge rusher that can terrorize the opponent’s passing attack as well as the rushing game. Wilson uses his speed well to get into the opposing offensive backfield and he is off to a tremendous start to the 2022 football season. I look for him to continue his strong level of play this season.
Kyle Reed-Running Back-5’9” 166-Pounds-2025
One of the most versatile prospects coming up through the ranks is running back Kyle Reed. Reed displays the ability to explode through the rushing lane. The Badgers have done a good job of getting him involved in the passing game going back to seven-on-seven tournaments during the summer. Over the next few years, Reed is going to be a prospect to watch out for from a recruiting perspective. He has the potential to play on Saturdays in the future.
Fayetteville Bulldogs
After a tough loss to start the season to Cabot. The Fayetteville Bulldogs have seemed to have found the momentum they were looking for. Over the past two weeks, Fayetteville has beaten North Little Rock and Fort Smith Northside. The Bulldogs appear to be ready to open up conference play and this is a program with the potential to make a playoff run in November.
Drake Lindsey Drake Lindsey 6'3" | 180 lbs | QB Fayetteville | 2024 State AR -Quarterback-6’5” 210-Pounds-2024
In the first three games of the season, the Fayetteville signal caller has looked sharp. Lindsey has a strong arm, and he is not afraid to take the deep shot to keep the opposing defense honest. Lindsey has looked impressive to start the season and I expect him to continue to open plenty of eyes the rest of the season.
Kaylon Morris Kaylon Morris 6'0" | 175 lbs | WR Fayetteville | 2023 State AR -Wide Receiver-6’2” 185-Pounds-2023
Morris has had a tremendous start to the season. Morris has racked up over 400 receiving yards and has caught two touchdown passes to start the season. The Fayetteville wide receiver runs smooth routes and has the speed to create separation. Morris has the potential to have a strong rest of the season and he is a prospect that scouts should pay attention to as the season progresses.
