OLSH’s passing attack is currently tops in the WPIAL with prospects such as WR/DB Dereon Greer Dereon Greer 6'1" | ATH Our Lady Sacred Heart | 2024 State PA , TE/DE BJ Vaughn BJ Vaughn 6'2" | 225 lbs | LB Our Lady Sacred Heart | 2023 State PA , QB Nehemiah Azeem Nehemiah Azeem 5'9" | 170 lbs | QB Our Lady of the Sacred Heart | 2023 State PA , and WR/DB Ziggy McIntosh Ziggy McIntosh 6'3" | 210 lbs | ATH Our Lady Sacred Heart | 2023 State PA . Chartiers-Houston arrives to the matchup with a respectable 3-2 record on the season. Chartiers has grown accustomed to relying on prospects like FS/WR Jake Mele, OLB/RB Derrian Sauls, and OL Cole Pawich when they need a big play.
Greer is on FCS & D2 radars so far & rightfully so. Dereon has a big WR frame with a big catch radius. Greer is OLSH’s biggest deep threat & he’s currently leading the WPIAL statistically. He possesses elite ball skills, regularly catching contested 50/50 passes over DBs. Dereon is a very elusive runner that is skilled at gaining YAC yards. Most of the time if he single covered it is a mismatch in the redzone due to his size. Greer has good speed that will continue to improve as keeps developing. He is very strong with the ball, most of his YAC comes from his strength not quickness.
Ziggy is getting interest from FCS colleges & already has offers from D2 West Liberty & Wheeling University. Offensively he’s another big body WR/DB for OLSH standing at 6’3 190. Ziggy runs good routes and gets out of breaks well. He has good hands & is a consistent possession receiver on the outside. At Safety he is a large DB that lays the wood when he comes up to tackle. He has good hips and is fast enough to maintain peak positioning contesting passes. He isn’t quick twitched but has efficient footwork & the size to contest 50/50 passes.
BJ is big, athletic & physical on both sides of the ball. He is being courted by the FCS level & currently has an offer from D2 Wheeling. At DE he already has multiple TFLs & consistently makes plays in the backfield. His athleticism is apparent at RB breaking tackles & displaying good quickness for his size. He is explosive and hard to block due to his agile movements. I even seen BJ playing DB a couple reps which speaks to athlete OLSH coaches think he is.
Ryan is getting a lot of attention from FCS schools & currently has offers from West liberty and Wheeling. He possesses great upper body strength and finishes his blocks to the whistle. He gets a little high sometimes in pass protection, but his punch is strong when he anchors down on his sets. Ryan plays with great physicality pancaking a lot of defenders to the ground on film. He will need to work on his footwork on pulling plays but he already has the nastiness necessary. Collegiately Ryan will most likely move to the inside and play guard on the next level.
Nehemiah is getting looked at by some of the lower level colleges to play QB. He is a great athlete and mobile in the pocket. He doesn’t get locked in on one receiver and spreads the ball around well. Nehemiah has been extra productive thus far in the 2022 season. He is good passing off a play action or RPOs. He has good arm strength & knows how to get the ball to his playmakers. Azeem is currently at the top of the WPIAL in multiple passing categories.
Highlights
Jake Mele
Jake Mele
ake is somewhat of utility player for Chartiers-Houston. I like him the most at three safety but he is productive on office as well. He has a good football IQ and good play recognition. Mele Has good ball skills overall and knows how to get the ball at the highest point. He is willing tackler that is scared to come up and hit. He plays centerfield well on the backend & doesn’t allow his alignment to get to shallow.
Derrian Sauls
Derrian Sauls
Sauls possesses college & size and athleticism at the OLB. He shows flashes of his overall ability running the ball on offense. Derrian plays with good effort pursuing the ball sideline to sideline. I’m excited to see Sauls in pass coverage this week against one of best in the WPIAL Our Lady of Sacred Heart.
Cole Pawich
Cole Pawich
Cole Is suited to play either center or guard on the next level. He moves well for a size and is a smart player. Athletic enough to be a center but he’s nasty enough to finish pulling blocks from the guard position. Cole plays tackle for Chartiers-Houston out of necessity but will be a play on the interior line collegiately.
