This game started out all Nettleton. Their QB [player_tooltip player_id='284025' first='Braylen' last='Williams'] was hitting on all cylinders. Saltillo wouldn't go away easy. These guys fought hard and came back for their victory. [player_tooltip player_id='346404' first='Coby' last='Owens'] put them on their shoulders for a 30-27 win.

"It feels good to get a win," said Coby. "Our plan all week was to come in and run the ball and we did that. Almost with no turnovers."

When I arrived the score was already 7-0 in Nettleton's favor. Saltillo had a fumble that was recovered by Nettleton and Bray would take it in for an easy score on the first play after. They struck fast and had their crowd rocking the visitor side stands. We were in for a good one.

Nettleton had a 4th and very very long they converted on, late in the first quarter. [player_tooltip player_id='284025' first='Braylen' last='Williams'] dropped back rolled to the right and threw a missile deep in the top corner of the end zone. The PAT was good and they were up 14-0. It seemed like things may have gotten out of hand for a little bit.

Saltillo made it their business to respond. It was late in the first-half and their QB found their receiver for a 40 yard touchdown. The PAT was good. We were going into halftime with a more decent game than it started. That's what I came to see.

[player_tooltip player_id='284025' first='Braylen' last='Williams'] started out hot when the second half would return. He hit his receiver number 13 on the money in the corner of the end zone for a nice touchdown. The Nettleton sideline was back making a lot of noise like they were to start off this game.

Saltillo quickly responded on a screen play for a touchdown. The two point conversion was ran in by [player_tooltip player_id='344087' first='JT' last='Beasley']. This game was starting to get good and the Saltillo crowd was ready to get in this game. Their players had a spark going and it was fixing to stop.

[player_tooltip player_id='346404' first='Coby' last='Owens'] was back at it again. This time he was running over runners to get in the end zone. The PAT was good. This guy turned up in the second half making sure his team got the win. It was an honor to watch him play.

"He's our guy offensively and defensively," said Coach Finch. "We gotta get the ball in his hands and we gotta make sure he's on the field. I felt like we out physically out played them tonight. They've played a couple of games, but last week they didn't have to play very hard and had a blowout."

Nettleton wasn't quite done yet. After a nice drive [player_tooltip player_id='284025' first='Braylen' last='Williams'] hit Pedigree in the endzone for six. The PAT was no good. They were in the lead 27-22. It was time for the ball to go back to Saltillo.

Saltillo did no playing around and got the job done. They lined up in Wildcat and [player_tooltip player_id='346404' first='Coby' last='Owens'] went in for six points. [player_tooltip player_id='344087' first='JT' last='Beasley'] would man his way in for another two point conversion and the score was 30-27 in Saltillo's favor.

Nettleton tried to make it work. Their guys stripped the football from Coby at the end of the game and had the ball back. After four plays and a dropped pass it was over. Saltillo had won the game.

"We've been in some tough games so far," said Coach Finch. "I felt like our physicality showed that. Our kids understand that we believe in them. We preach to them that if something goes wrong, something bad happens then brush it off and go to the next play. We can't live in the past we gotta move forward, just don't let it happen again. That's what we did tonight."
