So, let’s take a look at some players who are ready to take that next step for college play.
5. Ethan Koltz Ethan Koltz 6'10" | OL Sioux Falls Jefferson | 2023 State – Sioux Falls Jefferson
Koltz is someone who seems to be very underrated to me and I do not see many people talking about him but he is someone who I could go on to higher levels of football. He stands at a towering 6’11” and with him going to college, I would like to see him develop some more traits to his game. Koltz right now uses his side and makes defenders struggle when they try to get the edge off him and that is something he does quite well. His run blocking has issues at times but that is not his concern when he focuses as an outside blindside blocker to protect his QB. If he does the work he does now and adds some more to it, I would see him as one of the better offensive linemen at the college level and would love to see him do it.
4. Jarrett Theisen Jarrett Theisen 6'5" | 295 lbs | OL Watertown | 2023 State – Watertown
Theisen is a big offensive lineman who makes his QB well protected and what Theisen does is simply pancake players like no other. He puts players on the ground and does that so by using his strength along with footwork to do so. He works well anywhere on the line and can shift around so to match up with those players who pose the biggest threat to his team. That is something that you need to have when you play at a higher level and he does that now, making him something that he should be proud of that he can do. Being able to shift around on the line and being able to fill in at holes is what you need to do to take that next step and that is exactly what he does best.
3.
Elliott Renville
Elliott
Renville
6'4" | 285 lbs | OL
SF Lincoln | 2023
State
– Sioux Falls Lincoln
What I like about Renville is how mobile he can be for someone of his size and what he can do is be a Grade-A blocker for mobile QBs and do that quite well. His mobility allows him to take on those fast pass rushers who come off the edge and make them halt they reach him. He can maneuver and shift his feet and body to make some key blocks to make his QB take off if needed. He works well with his QB and seems to link up with him as second nature and has his chemistry with them that makes his ability to block them even better. He can block fast payers or even fast players for that matter, no matter what he does, he will give you good blocking and allow those mobile QBs to excel when you have Renville blocking.
2.
Kael Miedema

Miedema
6'8" | 310 lbs | OL
SF Washington | 2023
State
– Sioux Falls Washington
Miedema has one area that I see him do nearly better than anyone at a high level and that is how great he can run block for his team. He uses his ability to shift and adjust as the game goes on to stop defenders from finding any holes in the offensive line. He can help his other lineman too, he shows so much leadership when he is on the field, pointing out where defenders are going to rush and how he can help them adjust. This shows so many things about him and how he does so much more than play football but be a student of it and become someone who can be the very best at it. This work ethic and ability to lead show how he will fit in great at a collegiate level along with how he will always find a way to get better no matter what.
1. Jason Maciejczak Jason Maciejczak 6'4" | 320 lbs | OL Pierre | 2023 State – Pierre TF Riggs
I love watching Maciejcazk play and he is just so great at so much. He falls into the top spot on this list and those who have seen them play, you know why. I can see very little weakness when he is on the field and how well he plays the offensive lineman position. He can play and shift anywhere on the offensive line and plays it well. He can fit in as your top interior run blocker who can pancake defensive tackles up the middle and make anyone coming up the middle stop in their tracks. If you want a blindside blocker who can stop those speedy edge rushers from moving in, he does that at a high level as well. No matter what style of QB he will play with or where you want him to play, he is the very best lineman that we have in South Dakota right now and when he continues to do that at the college level, it will be great to see such a versatile offensive lineman be such a key piece for his team.
