Both Gulfport and Picayune have been on a two-game win streak and are both highly ranked and respected programs in the state. This type of contest has a huge buzz around it as it'll be a match of two football juggernauts looking to prove their dominance. For either team to win they will need to be executing at a high level for the entirety of the match. Whichever team does that will be the victor in the end.

Gulfport Admirals

The Gulfport Admirals have won their last two contests this season. In both games, the Gulfport athletes did a great job of rallying together to pull off the W and continue the season undefeated. In order to get a W in this playoff-caliber match, the athletes will need to step up yet again.

Emmanual Bentley, 5-9, 180 RB Class of 2023
Emmanual Bentley is one of the very reasons the Admirals are as productive as they are. Already two games into the season, Emmanual stands with over 200 Rushing yards with under 50 carries. Every tote Emmanual guarantees the admiral's success in their running game. This running back's recruitment eligibility is exceptionally high as MaxPreps rewards him with the 26th best running back in the state. If Bentley can produce this type of rush against Picayune his team will certainly have the advantage to pull off the win.

Jaiquon Payton, 5-9 165 DB Class of 2024
Jaiquon is a tackling machine for the Gulfport Admirals. From his free safety position, Jaiquon has managed to rack up 15 total tackles and a fumble recovery in his first 2 contests. One can constantly see Jaiquon making quick reads, sprinting to the ball, and making numerous tackles near the line of scrimmage or for losses. As a junior, he is showing incredible ability and awareness which will only continue to grow in college settings. For the Gulport High School to keep Picayune under check Jaiquon will need to replicate his performance for this game and do so at an incredibly high level.

Picayune Maroon Tide

The Maroon Tide won their first two games and only allowed one single touchdown to each team while scoring 3 or more touchdowns in each contest. This goes to show that the Maroon Tide has the ability to score but also the ability to stop the opposing offense. Their capabilities of doing so will be truly tested against the Admirals this Friday.

[player_tooltip player_id='108971' first='Dante' last='Dowdell'], 6-2 205 RB Class of 2023
Dante is a tremendous athlete at running back. Ranked 5th in the state Dante rushes the football with excellent speed, power, and balance. In his first two contests alone Dante ran for more than 120 yards in each finding the endzone a total of 3 times. Watching Dowdell run the ball one can see his commitment and intensity. It'll be great to see how Dante performs against a really staunch defense who will be looking to stuff the run game early and often.

Brady Robertson, 6-0 180 QB Class of 2024
Although the Maroon tide seldom passes the ball, when they do Brady is the one to call on. Over the last two games, Brady has thrown the football for over 220 yards 3 touchdowns, and no interceptions. This goes to show that Robertson makes the most of every opportunity that he gets and makes efficient decisions. If the run game becomes stifled Brady will need to display his arm talent and make plays. It will be interesting to note how the game goes and how often Brady is called upon as the playmaker.

All these athletes mentioned above are great prospects and will have an important part to play in the contest this Friday and the outcome. It may be a close low-scoring affair with every possession being a premium.
