Franklin VS Dearborn: Game Recap

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Last Friday, September 9th, Livonia Franklin played host to The Pioneers of Dearborn High is an absolute KLAA slug-fest. Franklin, comes into this match up 2-0 and the visiting Pioneers 1-1. Heres a recap of the match- up.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The game started off with Dearborn receiving the ball, their first drive had them pinned back in their own redzone from a couple costly penalties, forcing them to punt it to a hungry Patriot offense. Franklins first drive was a well balanced attack, ending with a 28 yard TD pass from Senior QB, [player_tooltip player_id='333475' first='JD' last='Bates'], to his 2023 WR, Tyler Garret. Dearborn put together a great drive on their second possession ending with a FG, mostly relying on the rushing attack of Senior QB, Adam Saleh. Franklin's second drive was capped off with a 15 yard rushing TD, by 2023 RB, Cordel Mabins... Remember the name Cordel Mabins… the man was a monster all evening and is an absolute beast with the rock in his hands.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>END of the 1st 14-3 Franklin</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The second quarter was definitely a defensive showcase causing the Pioneers to punt twice and were forced a turnover on downs. Franklin struggled and their third drive by throwing an INT, but before the half they found themselves in endzone once more, with a reverse to Junior RB, Dominic Simpson, from 21 yards out.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>HALFTIME 20-3 Franklin</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This second half had a lot of offensive fireworks!! With a combined 9 scoring drives between the two programs. Franklin started off hot again, with another connection through the air between Bates and Garret for a 10 yard score. Dearborn stuggled early in the 3rd throwing INTs on their first two drives to start the half. Franklin's RB, Cordel Mabins put his hard hat on and got to work in the 3rd, adding 2TD to his already impressive night. Dearborn started to get their legs back under them when Senior RB, [player_tooltip player_id='325021' first='Noah' last='Dobert'], busted a 21 yard TD to get the Pioneers on the board to end the quarter.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>END of the 3rd 40-9 Franklin</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In the 4th, Franklin added another 10 points to their total, with a FG early and a rushing TD from Tyler Garret from 12 yards out. Dearborn won the 4th quarter but it just was a little to late for them. Offensively, Senior QB, Adam Saleh, found his rhythm finding WR, Mohamad Faraj, for a 80 yard TD!!! The ensuing kickoff, the Pioneers recover a squib kick!!! And the very next play, Saleh found Dobert for a 41 yard TD pass.
