The Brandon Bulldogs may be considered by many to be one of the best teams in the state. Up to this point they have outscored their opponents with much ease but that will not be the case this week. Brandon is preparing for their first district match against the 3 and 1 Terry Bulldogs. Both teams are powerhouses but only one dog can be victorious in this match. Below are some key athletes that will play an important role in the outcome contest.

Sharonsky Johnson, 6-0 195 RB Class of 2023

Johnson is one of the main running backs for this run-focused offensive attack. Johnson's number gets called on most often and this is due to the fact that he produces great results. On average Johnson gains almost 10 yards each carry and constantly has 100 + rushing games. This season already Johnson has been able to find the endzone 6 times capitalizing on his ability to find the right gaps and be a physical runner. He will need to be able to produce similar numbers on Friday if he wants to help his team secure the victory.

[player_tooltip player_id='1119127' first='Donald' last='Passmore'], 6-2, 200 LB Class of 2024
Donald is a young tackling machine. In every game, you can spot Donald getting to the ball carrier both with speed and intensity. Already this year Donald has made 30 tackles from his linebacker spot. This showcases his ability to flow both downhill and side to side. His block destruction is another area in which he excels. For his team to have an opportunity to win the contest Donald will need to make the correct reads and react efficiently. He will have no easy task at hand containing the Brandon Bulldogs.

[player_tooltip player_id='273250' first='Landon' last='Varnes'], 5-11 178 QB Class of 2024
[player_tooltip player_id='273250' first='Landon' last='Varnes'] plays a big role in the success of the Brandon Bulldogs. So far this year Landon has been able to connect on over 64 percent of his passes for a near 630 yards in only 3 games. His ability to read the field and make difficult throws has allowed for him to excel as a young Quarterback. It will be interesting to see how much Landon's number will be called on in the passing game and what he does with those opportunities. If Varnes can be as accurate and productive as he has been things may go well for the Brandon Bulldogs.

Nate Blount, 6-0 180 RB Class of 2024
Nate is one of the Bulldog's most notable rushing threats. In each game, Nate collected over 100 yards with an average of 8.0 yards per carry. His physicality and instinct make him a difficult ball carrier to tackle. If he can continue to be this efficient in the run game he will be a big problem for opposing defenses. One can ensure that the outcome of the game will be heavily affected by how well each team can establish a running game.
