Owyhee 45 - Boise 16

Owyhee continued their winning streak behind a dominant performance from their defense that forced turnover after turnover taking three back for touchdowns. Offensively the Storm are still leaning on the offensive line led by Carson Rassmussen and [player_tooltip player_id='336854' first='Zac' last='Nyland']. [player_tooltip player_id='336936' first='Matt' last='Irwin'] is showing signs of improvement every game this year as the young signal caller is now firmly in command of the offense. Owyhee is undefeated early in this season and look to continue their winning ways but have a tough opponent in Mountain View but will play them at home. Boise struggled with turnovers against the Storm but still showed that they are improving as a program moving the ball through the air with Cooper Smith. This Boise team will take there 2-1 record into the division as they play Nampa at home.

Sandpoint went up a division from 4A in order to play one of the top programs in the state and battled to the very end. Led by [player_tooltip player_id='403758' first='Parker' last='Pettit'] the Bulldogs have not started out with an easy schedule this year and it will pay off down the long run. Still considered in the top two in terms of best 4A teams in the state the Bulldogs will look to rebound this week against Colville (WA). Coeur d'Alene got their first win of the season after starting out with the defending state champs Rigby and the front runner for this years state champions Rocky Mountain. Led by their young quarterback Jamison Kizzar the Vikings were able to hold off the Bulldogs in a game that was much closer than the score indicates.

Kuna 7 - Eagle 21

Kuna lost its first game of the season against division foe Eagle. Kuna was plagued by turnovers while in scoring position but was able to move the football against a stout Eagle defense. Kuna is still led by the arm of Cole Luekenga but got its only touchdown from Mario D'Orazio late in the fourth quarter. Eagle was led on defense by Tristan Walker who had two interceptions in critical points of the game and [player_tooltip player_id='340803' first='Seth' last='Brock'] who had 4 sacks to help stop the top scoring offense in the 5A division. Eagle quarterback Jake Longson led the way with his legs similar to what he did vs Meridian with 104 yards and two scores on the ground for the Mustangs.

Gooding 0 - Homedale 49

Gooding wasnt able to capitalize against a Homedale team that is looking like the favorite to win the title. This game was all about Homedale as they were able to make big play after big play led by [player_tooltip player_id='336883' first='Mason' last='Strong'] who continues to make highlight reel catches early on in the season. Jaxon Dines had a fantastic night going 13-15 for 256 yards and four touchdowns while the Homedale defense has three turnovers and only surrendered 72 total yards on the night.

Blackfoot 31 - Madison 14

Blackfoot continues to dominate early on in the season win another big win and this week against 5A opponent Madison. The Blackfoot offense this season has been nearly unstoppable this season led by stellar play from their returning quarterback Jaxon Grimmett. Blackfoot might be one of the most balanced offenses in the state with running back Austin Ramirez and wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='336847' first='Javonte' last='King']. Madison continues to work to find an identity on offense this season as they have had a rough outing on that side of the ball but don't be shocked if this team goes on a dangerous run as they are able to put up points in a hurry.

Rocky Mountain 37 - Mountain View 21

Rocky Mountain showed why they are considered by almost everyone as the top team in the state of Idaho after beating Mountain View on the road this week. Behind the strong arm of quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='336869' first='Tegan' last='Sweaney'] who went 15-22 for 366 yards 3 touchdowns and 2 more on the ground. Rocky showed how balanced they can be on offense after the previous weeks of being a run dominant team. Rocky was also able to stop the fast paced Mavericks offense enough times to allow their offense to take over the game. On the flip side it was the Mountain View offense who showed up this week scoring behind the legs of Justin McGee who came into the game at tailback after an injury rushing for 70 yards on 28 carries and two touchdowns.

Highland 21 - Skyline 29

In a battle between the traditional power and the 4A state champs it was the 4A state champ Skyline who came out on top. The boys from Skyline are going to be flat out dangerous this year with some of the top returning talent in the state and it showed against the Rams of Highland. [player_tooltip player_id='336730' first='Kenyon' last='Sadiq'] continues to show why he's the number one recruit in the state and committed to Oregon. [player_tooltip player_id='349791' first='Caden' last='Taggart'] is an absolute monster for the Grizzlies and the arm of Lachlan Haacke might be the reason why they win it all. Highland on the other side is still young after graduating a ton of talent but there are bright spots all over the field for them Drew Hymas and [player_tooltip player_id='239243' first='Kai' last='Callen'] make up a young nucleus that will be dangerous in the years to come.
