Jordan Lovett – Statesboro
One of the leading rushers in Georgia through the first two weeks, the Statesboro back does have a few smaller offers already, but if he keeps running the way he has through the first two weeks, he could see more come his way very soon. A dynamic athlete with plenty of speed, the 6-foot-0 190-pounder has been tough to stop all season, rushing for 277 yards and three touchdowns in week one while rushing for another 178 yards and two more touchdowns in week two. He runs extremely well for his size and has clocked a 10.85 in the 100-meter. He’s a natural runner who can break tackles, but if there’s an opening, he’s going to run through it for a big gain. He’s running through defenses right now and it could lead to some bigger offers later this fall.
Tyreeck Hall – Winder-Barrow
It’s hard to find a bigger “breakout” running back so far this season that Winder-Barrow standout, Tyreeck Hall. Don’t let his small stature fool you. Hall is a quick, explosive back who can out-run just any defense he goes up against. He’s been unstoppable so far this season, using his speed and explosiveness to run past defenders with ease. Through two games, Hall has rushed 38 times for 423 yards and 6 touchdowns. He’s averaging an absurd 11.1 yards per carry, proving to be one of the most efficient and explosive backs so far this season. He ran wild in a week two win over ML King, setting a school record with 246 yards and 5 touchdowns. His speed is easy to notice, but Hill also has tremendous footwork and knows how to stay balanced for extra yards after contact. Expect him to continue flying past defenses all season.
Andrew Shockley – Banks County
He’s only played one game so far this season, but it was one of the biggest games we’ll likely see all season. The senior back from small-town Homer, Georgia ran wild in week one of the 2022 season against Johnson, rushing for an eye-opening 398 yards and 6 touchdowns. He carried the load, and he dominated all night in their big season-opening win. A speedy back with excellent vision and a feel for the game, Shockley showed quickness, power, and athleticism with every carry on the night. He jumped through tackles and zig-zagged his way to touchdown after touchdown to start the season. He was playing on a different level and has a chance to keep it up this season. He’s a natural runner with good footwork, burst, and playmaking ability. He won’t rush for close to 400 yards every game, but expect him to light up the stat sheet in some capacity week after week as the season moves along.
Solomon Leslie – Loganville
Looking for an under the radar back with speed and power? Leslie is your guy. At 6-foot-0 200-pounds, Leslie is off to a terrific senior season, rushing for 330 yards on 34 carries and five touchdowns through his first two games. He’s a smooth runner who can move laterally, but knows how to put his foot in the ground and get upfield in a hurry. He runs through tackles with ease and consistently falls forward for extra yards at the end of runs. He rarely goes down at first contact and gives it his best effort every time he has the ball in his hands. In week one, Leslie rushed for 169 yards and two touchdowns in a wild 45-39 win over nearby Monroe. In week two, Leslie rushed for 161 yards and three touchdowns, showing why he’s one of the best running backs in the area. He’s in the beginning stages of a breakout year the way he’s been running early this season.
