Game 1: Columbia 16, Whitmire 8

Quarterback Jamel McDaniel looked good running the Columbia offense. He threw the ball well and scored the first points with a 28-yard run. He completed a nice pass to Jacory Wilson to set up the second Capitals score, a short Zion Clarke run.

Whitmire avoided the shutout on a 5-yard TD run from [player_tooltip player_id='1253974' first='Kayshaun' last='Schumpert']. Will Livingston pulled double duty at TE and DE and was a force on both sides of the ball. Blake Stribble also played well at QB.

Game 2: Lower Richland 20, Dreher 14

[player_tooltip player_id='202736' first='Nate' last='Branch'], the Coastal Carolina commit, hauled in a long pass to set up a score. Mekhi Campfield showed he's more than a capable running mate for Branch by hauling in a short touchdown pass. Marcus Smith is the new Diamond Hornets QB and he seemed comfortable in running the offense. Lamarion Pearson scored on a short run as well.

The offensive line was impressive as well, anchored by 6'8”, 350-pound Dakari Sumter. Cameron Newton and Keyon'dre Richardson also return up front.

Lower Richland added its other score on a pick-6 by Kyree Foster. LB [player_tooltip player_id='411696' first='Deamonti' last='garrett'] and DB Jemarious Reaves were the leaders on the defensive side of the ball.

Dreher is starting under first-year coach and alumnus Corey Jenkins. The Blue Devils took the opening kickoff and scored in four plays – the final being an 18-yard scoring pass from Colby Fuller to Caleb Berry.

The Blue Devils final score was a 7-yard TD connection from Riley Croxton to Tyrell Bowens. Jenkins will lean heavily on DE Trent Goodwin and LBs Willie Smith and Gavin Hucks.

Game 3: A.C. Flora 40, Keenan 0

First-year coach Ken Floyd looked on as his Falcons put on a huge offensive display. [player_tooltip player_id='202733' first='Carew' last='Bates'] moved from WR to QB this season and he looked like he's been playing the position his entire life. He had scoring passes of 40 yards and 38 yards to [player_tooltip player_id='202725' first='Chris' last='Lofton'] and a 10-yard strike to [player_tooltip player_id='409839' first='Jack' last='Purdy'].

Defensively, DLs [player_tooltip player_id='202750' first='Braxton' last='Burton'] and Andrew Thomas along with LB Mason Little controlled the line of scrimmage.

Keenan struggled with turnovers and allowing big plays but Northwestern transfer RB [player_tooltip player_id='202758' first='Qua' last='Howard'] and WR Antonio Adams played well.

Game 4: C.A. Johnson 14, Eau Claire 0

The nightcap was a showcase for the C.A. Johnson skill players. The Green Hornets were missing last year's leading rusher Dawan Rice but several others stepped up in his absence. First-year starting QB DeJayline Jacobs led the way. He scored on a 5-yard run and engineered the offense well. [player_tooltip player_id='1142538' first='Caleb' last='Pearson'], who scored on a 25-yard run where he broke several tackles and reversed field for the score. Running backs Rafael McKinney and Nigel Leake along with WR Terrill Hopkins all made plays as well.
