QB: Justin Cox, 6’2″ 195, East Akron, SR
Cox put together an impressive week one statline, throwing for 415 yards and four touchdowns in a 33-27 loss to Jackson. On film he easily ID’ed matchups pre-snap, got the ball out of his hand quickly, and used his mobility to scramble & keep multiple plays alive. He showed on Friday that he can handle full-field reads and has top-notch touch to go with it.
RB: Dane Nauman, 6′ 215, Highland, JR
Dane produced in a 17-14 week one win over Fredericktown. The Junior back rushed for 300 yards and one touchdown on 31 carries, including a 98-yarder that blew the game wide open. His physical running style and downright filthy contact balance were on full display. Nauman is a sleeper for now, but if he keeps putting up numbers like that, he won’t be for long.
WR: Jack Borer Jack Borer 6'3" | 180 lbs | WR Perrysburg | 2023 OH , 6’3″ 185, Perrysburg, SR
Jack was a key cog for the Yellow Jackets finishing with ten total receptions for 190 yards & two touchdowns in a 24-21 loss at Dublin Jerome. Borer proved he has a natural feel for working all three levels of the field, is a pure hands catcher that looks the ball into the tuck, and can create some serious YAC on his own. His size and overall smoothness make him a really intriguing wide receiver prospect to keep an eye on the rest of the way.
TE: Tayvion Galloway Tayvion Galloway 6'6" | 220 lbs | TE Pickerington Central | 2024 State OH , 6’5″ 230, Chillicothe, JR
The LSU commit totaled 87 yards receiving yards and two touchdowns in a 29-19 win over Teays Valley. His size, confident hands, and body control were evident throughout. He’s extremely sneaky in the red area and proved to be pretty disruptive on the defensive side of the football as well.
Other Names That Stood Out
QB: Drew Novak Drew Novak 6'5" | 180 lbs | QB Western Brown | 2023 State OH , 6’6″ 200, Western Brown, SR
Threw for 309 yards and four touchdowns, all while completing 68% of his passes in a dominant 55-0 win over Hillsboro.
RB: Carter Curtis, 5’10 150, Hardin Northern, JR
Rushed for 240 yards and four touchdowns on just 20 carries in a 44-19 win over Arcadia
RB: Marco Cirigliano, 5’10” 175, Columbia, JR
Finished Friday’s matchup with 190 yards and four total touchdowns on just 15 carries in a 48-6 win over independence.
WR: Cameron Frazier, 5’11” 170, KIPP Columbus, JR
Frazier was a standout for KIPP on both sides of the ball, but I thought he was fantastic at wide receiver finishing with 148 total yards & 2 touchdowns, including a 63-yard punt return for a touchdown.
