Specifically, the receivers who have been standing out in these games, have already seen high receiving totals, as well as game changing, and score altering touchdowns. This is one of the most exciting parts about tracking yardage, and stat leaders, and this season, we believe we are in for a good one. Below, take some time to look at some of Georgia’s leaders in receiving to this point of the season.
Jaden Gibson- Rabun County
During Rabun County’s game this past week, Jaden Gibson continued to add on to his yardage total for the 2022 season, finding a way to accumulate 311 yards in just 2 games this season. In doing so, he had found a way to get to this point by totaling an average of 20.7 yards a catch on 15 receptions, contributing to a yards per game total of 155.5 yards. In addition to this, Gibson also has racked up an 89 yard long reception, with 4 TD’s. Going into the rest of the season, we fully believe that he will continue to add on to this total, and have a season that sets his talents apart from other receivers in the state.
Tavion Jackson- Duluth
Not only has Duluth already played in two games, but Tavion Jackson has already done his part to show out and put the team on his back. During the first few games of the season, Jackson has totaled 16 receptions, and has found himself with a total of 300 yards. Per catch, he has an average of 18.8 yards, which has also helped him to wind up with 150 total yards by the end of the game. Moving into the rest of the season, even in spite of the competition they face, expect Jackson to shine above his competition, and to potentially be one of the top receiving leaders by the end of the year.
James Johnson

– Douglas County
As just a sophomore, Johnson has proven to be a valuable asset to his team, as he has stood among the rest of his teammates as his team’s lead receiver. So far, he has totaled 11 receptions for 298 yards. Out of those 298 yards, he has also totaled an average of 27.1 yards a catch, with the longest one of the season being 64 yards. Going forward, expect him to be a stand out prospect, as well as a leader for his team’s offense at an early age, which will be very exciting to watch.
William Wallace- Archer
Wallace is another sophomore who has not let his age be a hindering factor in his game, as he has taken time to hone his craft, and allow for his acceleration, burst, and solid route running to put him in position to catch passes that help his offense work their way down the field effectively. At this point of the season, through 2 games, Wallace has totaled 258 yards, and has accumulated an average of 16.1 yards a catch. In addition to this, he also totaled 129 yards a game in a 2 game period, largely due to his longest reception being 56 yards. In addition to this, it is also worth noting that Wallace has been a huge factor in his team’s points totals, as he has also already accounted for 3 TD’s.
Kevin Douglas- Aquinas
Douglas has already managed to step up for his team, and set himself apart from his competition for his senior year. So far, he has already led his team in total receiving yards, as he has accumulated 256 yards at this point. This is largely from his average of 23.3 yards a catch, which has contributed to his 128 yard average per game. With this, Douglas has also totaled 3 TD’s, and has shown that his speed, burst, and change of direction will be something that will be difficult for opposing team’s to stop.
