Throughout the state of Georgia, plenty of programs develop insanely talented defensive players, in which they not only shine against their competition and on film, but they have the numbers to back it up. Below, we have included some of the top leaders in sacks from the past few weeks, as they are definitely worth tracking moving forward.
Aidan Butts- Stephens County
After only 2 games, Butts has not only shown out for his team, but he has put up video game-like numbers, as he has racked up 8 sacks in just 2 games. In these two games, paired with his sack count, he has also put up 7 solo tackles, and 6 assists. To make matters even more impressive, 6 of these tackles also account for a loss. Moving forward, if Butts can continue to produce at such a high rate, with such a good volume, we have no doubt that he will walk away from things as the state’s leading sack leader- especially since he has a 3 sack margin to work with right now.
Nathan Walker- Stephens County
To start the 2022 season, Nathan Walker is already getting off to a good start, as he has statistically kept a great pace, and is competing with his teammate, Aidan Butts, for the most sacks in the state. What’s great for their team is that this competition has resulted in great defensive performance. In the first two games of the season, Walker has put up 18 total tackles, and has also had 6 tackles for a loss. In addition to this, 10 of his 18 tackles happen to be solo tackles. The most impressive part about his performance so far is that he has racked up 5 sacks to this point of the season. Going into the rest of the season, if he and Butts can continue to play at this rate, Stephens County will find themselves in great shape by the end of the year.

Just like each of the other players already listed, Odinjor has also had a highly productive season up to this point of his senior year. Going into week 3, he has already made 17 total tackles, with 9 of them being solo, and 8 of them being assists. In addition to this, he has also racked up an average of 8.5 tackles a game, with 2 of them this season being for a loss. The most stellar stat of all though is the fact that he also has 5 sacks so far, putting him in a tied second place spot with Walker. As the weeks go by, time will only tell if they can both add on to these totals, or if one will overtake the other in sack totals.
Logan Brooking- Savannah Christian
Impressive enough, Brooking has made an appearance on this list as a sophomore, and has already racked up offensive and defensive statistics, as he has proven to be a viable asset to his team on both sides of the ball. Defensively, his performance for his team has already made a difference in creating stops, and putting his offense in a good position. After 2 weeks of ball, Brooking has 10 total tackles, with 8 of them being solo, and 2 of them being assists. Out of all of these tackles, 5 of them also happen to be for a loss, which is impressive in itself. In addition to this, Brooking also has 4.5 sacks so far this season, and will only look to add to this list as the season goes on. Due to the fact that he is playing at this rate as a sophomore, expect him to continue to become more polished, especially in his technique, by the end of the season.
Justin Walker- Westside
Falling just shy of Brooking lies Justin Walker, who has already accumulated 4 sacks this season in 1 game. This is not only impressive but this gives us hope that he will catch up to the top players on this list in due time. In his first game of the season, Walker also had 8 total tackles, with 6 of them being for a loss. In addition to this, it should also be noted that 3 of these were solo tackles, and 5 of them were assists. Expect him to continue to add to this total by the end of the year.
