[player_tooltip player_id='181897' first='Jayden' last='Young'], QB, St. Thomas Aquinas, 2023

Jayden's film was really fun to watch! He's very athletic and is a legit threat to pull the ball down and take it to the house. He not just an athlete though. On the scramble, he keeps his eyes downfield and throws a great deep ball in the pocket and on the run. One of his underrated abilities is his touch on the short and crossing routes, giving his receivers an opportunity for great yardage after the catch. He had a busy summer on the camp circuit, and I'm sure the sidelines will be full of college coaches for Jayden. At 6'2 with his athleticism, he could project to multiple positions at the next level.

Darrell Brown, RB, Kinsgway, 2023

This young man is the definition of a dynamic playmaker, having over 1,000 yards of total offense as a junior. From the running back position he hits the line of scrimmage like he was shot out of a cannon with rare explosiveness, often accelerating past the linebacker level before they lay a hand of him. His a great receiver out of the backfield as well from the slot. From the receiver position he has a knack for finding pockets for his Quarterback to find him and can separate from DBs on the long ball. He has great potential at corner as well, showing great change of direction ability and hauling in 2 interceptions for Kingsway last season.

RJ Ussher, DL, Westwood, 2024

I have a real soft spot for nose tackles. It's a tough job. They have such a big impact on the game, but rarely get any stats to go with it. That's why I like highlighting tough guys like RJ, because he just handles people. The way he clogs up the A gaps and disrupts the run game is awesome, especially doing so as a 2 gap player. He's physical and heady, able to redirect centers, reset the line of scrimmage for the defensive line and pursue down the line for big plays. He had a huge impact on the Westwood line as only a sophomore, so I'm expecting big thing from him this year.

[player_tooltip player_id='215508' first='Chase' last='Lorencovitz'], LB/WR/RB, Wallkill Valley, 2023

Chase is a rare athlete who can go from an in the box linebacker, to a bruising running back to a X wide receiver catching fade routes in the endzone for touchdowns. At 6'0, 215 pound he's a short yardage monster who is fast enough and strong enough to just lower his shoulder and punish people out of the backfield. He's a physical linebacker who stops you dead in your tracks in the run game and had in interception to his credit last season. Then as a 215 pound wide receiver (not slot) he had 65 catches for 858 yards and 5 TDs, because who in the secondary is going to stop him? With this kind of size and athleticism (and a 4.2 GPA) he'll definitely be playing on Saturdays!
