The first weeks slate of games have featured electric environments with enthusiastic fans packed in loud stadiums all over the state. There was competitive match ups all around every division and even a nationally televised game on ESPN2. Being presented a game ball is a symbolic nod of appreciation for the respective players contribution and performance.
Carlos Bentacourt – Mansfield Summit – Class of 2024
Carlos had a dominant start to the season and did a great job of getting movement at the point of attack. He covered up and basically erased his defender all night. Despite his team not getting the win he played with unmatched level of physicality and made a early splash. Attached below are how some of his reps went on the night.
Sawyer Anderson Sawyer Anderson 6'0" | 185 lbs | QB Parish Episcopal | 2025 State TX – Parish Episcopal – Class of 2025
Sawyer is a proven winner who’s game gets more impressive the more that I watch him lead and play. He was a huge part of their upset win over a very talented Aledo squad. He has a rocket for an arm, goof poise, pocket presence, and already hold multiple offers from schools from all over the country that have jumped in the race early and are vying for his services.
Mason Marshall – Rockwall High – Class of 2024
Mason was thrown into the action early after the first drive of the game due to injury. He made the most of his opportunity and stepped up big time to help his team pull out a victory versus Cedar Hill. He put on a show, protected the football, made good decision and helped put three scores on the board to secure the early 34-12 victory.
Caden Durham Caden Durham 5'10" | 185 lbs | RB Duncanville | 2024 State TX – Duncanville High – Class of 2024
Caden was prolific on the ground running the ball for Duncanville and was an integral part in helping them pull off the win on ESPN2 versus a stout and talented South Oak Cliff defensive front. He has a talented offensive line to thank for opening up holes upfront and with his speed he’s almost impossible to catch from behind at the high school level. He had multiple highlights on the night but the most outstanding was a 99 yard touchdown that helped establish the running game early.
Ethan Terrell Ethan Terrell 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB Lewisville | 2024 State TX – Lewisville High – Class of 2024
Ethan is a proven leader with a strong arm who has done a good job carrying over the momentum that he built up last year. He put his ability to use his legs and avoid pressure from the pass rush on full display by rushing for 114 yards and throwing for two touchdowns. He helped his team get the win and earns a game ball based off his performance, poise in the pocket and ability to manage the game. He will need to keep playing big as the season progresses for Lewisville and I expect him to pop back up on this list even more as the season carries on.
Legend Howell Legend Howell 6'2" | 170 lbs | QB Desoto | 2026 State TX – Bishop Lynch – Class of 2026
Legend is a young but special player who has high major arm talent. He did an outstanding job of stepping up in his first live action as a true freshman. Despite his team not getting the victory he was excellent at managing the game and controlling the tempo and keeping his team on the field by getting first downs and maintaining drives.
