Te’Shaun Porter Te’Shaun Porter 5'11" | 200 lbs | RB Omaha North | 2023 State NE (2023) | 5’11” | RB | Omaha North
New Rank: 41| Previous Rank: 62 (Moved up 21 spots)
Omaha North’s Te’Shaun Porter Te’Shaun Porter 5'11" | 200 lbs | RB Omaha North | 2023 State NE might be one of the more overlooked ‘backs heading into the 2022 season. Porter is a big, power back with the speed and burst to leave defenders in the dust. He had a monster junior year in which he averaged 134 rushing yards per game and ended up with 1,610 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns on the season. At 5’11″ and 200 lbs, he is a handful to bring down and rarely went down on first contact. Porter can also dish out some punishment when he’s running, as he loves to lower the shoulder and truck defenders in his path. One thing people tend to ignore about Te’Shaun’s game is his breakaway speed after he’s advanced into the open field. Te’Shaun had several long runs in which he bounced out to the outside before turning on the burners and picking up a nice gain. When the QB’s number is called, Porter has shown to be a very good pass blocker. Porter has started to garner more looks over the past few months with offers from Northwest Missouri State, Minnesota State, Bemidji State, and Wayne State coming in. I believe Te’Shaun’s recruit stock is bound to take off once the season gets going.
New Rank: 42 | Previous Rank: 96 (Moved up 54 spots)
Ayden is a player that I got to watch quite a bit this summer and I have been really impressed by what I’ve seen. The Papio South edge rusher has looked unstoppable against some top competition across several camps. What I like most about Barnby’s game is his versatility as an edge rusher and the mix of speed and power rushing moves in his arsenal. As a speed rusher, he uses his quick first step to beat the blocker to his spot and then does a great job using his hands and leverage. You can’t forget about how well he can use the spin move, I saw him beat many players with it at camps. As a power-rusher, he is a very strong player that can lock in and drive his blocker into the backfield. Ayden finished last season with an impressive 41 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 2 forced fumbles, and 2 passes defended. He is a player that should continue to break out in year 4. Barnby’s recruitment picked up in May with an initial offer from Hastings College followed by offers from Doane, Northwestern College, and Dakota Wesleyan. Don’t miss out on this guy!

Another player that left a huge impression this summer was Bellevue West senior, Donnovan Whitfield Donnovan Whitfield 6’3″ | 185 lbs | DB Bellevue West | 2023 State NE . He had a promising junior year in which he ended up with 18 tackles and 2 passes defended while showing a lot of potential. As I’ve watched him, it’s clear that he is ready to take on a bigger role. The most obvious strength of Donnovan’s game is his size and length, which he uses both really well. He is physical with his hands and can get his long arms up to swat away and break up passes. Whitfield’s size is also complemented by his sideline-to sideline quickness which will be very helpful when he has to cover slot receivers/tight ends. One thing that I saw a lot of this summer was Donnovan making a lot of smart, instinctive plays that resulted in interceptions. He has good timing and judgment of when to pounce on the ball and force a turnover. With offers from Doane and Iowa Western, Whitfield has already started to make some noise on the recruiting trail. He has all the tools and talent to have a huge senior year and expand his offers list.

The more I watch Cooper’s tape, the more excited I get to watch him play this season. One thing that helped Cooper jump up a few spots was his potential as a linebacker. Cerny is mostly getting recruited as a tight end, but his playmaking ability as an outside linebacker can’t be denied. Now, as a tight end I really like Cooper’s football IQ. When you watch his tape, you can see several plays where he is able to identify the soft spots of the defense and attack it. Once Cooper has the ball in his hands, he is a scrappy player that is hard to bring down. He fights for extra yards and tends to fall forward. His length and pass-catching radius is going to cause several mismatches this fall. Cerney is still laying low on some radars, but has picked up an offer from Doane. This is going to be a fast-riser!
