The Dogs got a dynamic week from WR Lester Miller Lester Miller 6'0" | 160 lbs | WR Brandon | 2023 State MS who caught 9 passes for 203 yards and 2 TD’s in a victory over Oxford to open the season. As if week 1 wasn’t tough enough, week 2 brings a re-match of the 2021 state title game.
This week: vs. Madison Central
2. Madison Central (1-0)
A battle between the top two teams in the state is on deck Friday night at Brandon. If the Jags want to move up the ranks the opportunity is present.

3. Ocean Springs (1-0)
One of the state’s top ATH in Bray Hubbard Bray Hubbard 6'2" | 175 lbs | QB Ocean Springs | 2023 State MS will face off with Mississippi State commit Tabias Hinton Tabias Hinton 6'3" | 220 lbs | DL Hattiesburg | 2023 State MS and a pesky Hattiesburg defense.

4. Picayune (1-0)
The Maroon Tide got a big win over a rival on the coast in Poplarville to start the 2022 campaign. They must beware of one of the state’s best programs over the last decade this week.

5. Starkville (1-0)
Every one knows the Trey Petty Trey Petty 6'1" | 190 lbs | QB Starkville | 2024 State MS to Stonka Burnside duo is going to be one of the best in the state but the defense stepped up and pitched a shutout last week. If that is who Starkville can be defensively then watch out.

6. Oak Grove (1-0)
The early season favorite in Region 3-6A knocked off Harrison Central in a tight battle to kick off the year.

7. Louisville (1-0)
One of the biggest results from week 1 came in Winston County as Louisville knocked off 5A Power West Point and resulted in the Wildcats vaulting to the top 10.

8. Tupelo (1-0)
Coach Ty Hardin had the Golden Wave primed and ready as they shutout Lafayette last week. QB J.J. Harrell was one of the state’s best going 24-26 with 290 yards and 4 TDs.
This week: vs. Saltillo
9. Laurel (1-0)
Caden Arrington was the man for Laurel as they cruised to a 1-0 start. Arrington rushed for just over 200 yards and 4 TD’s to lead the way.
This week: @ D’Iberville
10. Oxford (0-1)
The Chargers came out of the gates slow to open the season, but there is no shortage of talent on both sides of the ball.
