Continue ReadingIt’s tough for me to get past Conlan Greene Conlan Greene 6’4″ | 265 lbs | DL Penn-Trafford | 2023 State PA playing quarterback for Penn-Trafford. The kid is such a dominant player along the edge, so much so that it’s tough even picturing him suiting up at QB. The kid has the size to do it of course. Yet this past weekend, we saw the Temple commit lead the Warriors to an overtime victory over a very talented Canon-McMillan program. Greene put up a terrific stat line that saw him complete 76% of his passes while throwing for 330 yards and four scores. This kid looked like a cheat code at QB, again, against a solid Big Mac football team. This wasn’t a fluke by any means. Expect the former PRZ Top Performer to continue to put up stats like this.
What an awesome first week for Markus Barnett Markus Barnett 5’7″ | 175 lbs | RB Neshaminy | 2023 State PA , a great kid with an even better story, who is criminally underrated on our site. Couple more nights like the one he had last weekend and he’ll be knocking on the door of many in the top 20. 28 attempts amounted to 275 yards on the ground. Barnett also put two scores on the board, helping Neshaminy get their first win of the season. Watching the tape, the night didn’t even look difficult for Barnett, the kid was fresh, quick, and ran with a purpose. Happy to see him do well.
Highlights
Alexander Yost Alexander Yost 6’0″ | 200 lbs | DB Altoona Area | 2023 State PA had himself a night for Altoona, coming up with a crucial touchdown to put this game away. Yost was yet another running back to boast fresh legs last weekend. Yost also came up with some impact blocks on offense, while also showcasing his talents at linebacker, a spot I like him just as much as I do at RB. Yet we all love to hear the statlines, which is understandable.
Yost went for 165 yards and two scores on the ground.
I like what I saw out of Lawron Short Lawron Short 6’3″ | 225 lbs | DL Great Valley | 2023 State PA in the first action since seeing him at our camp back in May. Short was very close to an incredible game, narrowly missing a scoop and score on defense, while also narrowly missing his first sack of the year. Yet still, Lawron looked good with both his hand in the dirt or off, something we noticed from his junior tape. Plenty of TFLs and pressure, I’m also excited to see what kind of player Short will be at tight end. Solid start to the year.
What a fresh start for Jaiden Bermudez Jaiden Bermudez 5’9″ | 150 lbs | WR Stroudsburg | 2023 State PA . Bermudez’s junior tape is solid, yet more outings like this that showcase all he can do on offense will do wonders for his stock on the site as well as amongst college coaches. Very active in jet sweeps that have Bermudez in motion pre-snap. Shows the Stroudsburg coaching staff is willing to force him looks, which should be the case. This was a step in the right direction.
9 for 12, 170 yards, four scores, 60+ rushing yards, and another score on the ground. All of this in the first half for Fleetwood signal caller and leader Jack Riffle Jack Riffle 6’2″ | 175 lbs | QB Fleetwood | 2024 State PA . This is honestly not too much of a surprise, especially for me. I have had the pleasure of seeing Riffle through numerous different outlets, on tape, and in person. We think highly of him, so performances like this we have grown accustomed to. The junior quarterback was in full command of the football against Kutztown, executing his reads and throws without breaking a sweat. He did break a sweat on some of his runs in this one. Excited to see him expand on this subtle part of his game.

Again, it’s tough to elevate kids like Hayden Johnson Hayden Johnson 6’1″ | 195 lbs | QB Manheim Township | 2024 State PA , a top ten quarterback prospect that we expect to perform the way he did this past weekend. Johnson threw for just under 350 yards and four scores, dominating a Cumberland Valley secondary that had no answer for his level of play. Tape recorded from behind Johnson showed just how far along the junior has come from an accuracy standpoint. Johnson was throwing with anticipation, showcasing his knowledge of the offense despite it being week one. Johnson showed off some solid pocket awareness as well, stepping up when he could while also evading pressure when needed. This was a huge step in the right direction of eventually becoming a top-five quarterback in his class. Excited to see more.

I have been a huge fan, ever since I saw Evan McCracken Evan McCracken 5’8″ | 195 lbs | ATH Richland | 2024 State PA come in and destroy our camp back in January. After our junior rankings were released, we were pleased to give Evan a D1 grade. His first tape as a junior solidified that grade. McCracken is moving differently, showing incredible lateral agility and burst at running back. I love McCracken at running back, he looks natural in the open field, while having the build to sustain hits in the trenches. Can’t forget about the energy he plays with at linebacker or his pass-catching ability at the line of scrimmage. Can’t wait to rank him as a top 100 prospect. Evan racked up 163 total yards from scrimmage, scoring three times for Richland.
