#1 West Linn @ #15 North Medford WL -31.5

Some might think the point margin is disrespectful with North bringing back a host of talented kids and playing at home, but the Lions look to be on another level. The Black Tornado lost on the road last year 49-7 to West Linn. I would take the Lions to cover.

Skyview (WA) @ #2 Jesuit JES -9.5

This will be a good matchup. The Storm are consistently one of the better teams in the GSHL and 4A Washington. They bring back some talented kids, but Jesuit is legit 6A state title contender with the top line in the state. I would take the Crusaders to cover, potentially by a decent margin.

#3 Central Catholic @ Bellevue (WA) BELL -10.5

The Wolverines dominated the state of Washington at the 3A level last season, going 14-0 and winning the state title. CC returns after winning the 6A state championship with POY [player_tooltip player_id='152354' first='Cru' last='Newman'] at QB back to lead. That being said as they lose a host of talent, including one of the nation's best in 6-6 [player_tooltip player_id='104685' first='Riley' last='Williams'] and also OL/DL [player_tooltip player_id='110189' first='Joe' last='Merlino'], who transferred to Union in WA. Bellevue's Ishaan Daniels is the real deal as I could see this being a 3 TD difference in the outcome.

5A Summit @ #4 Tualatin TUAL -10

Summit might be bored playing 5A football this season. They are the clear cut #1 at that level, after making the 6A state quarterfinals last season. The T-Wolves graduate a ton of talent but are still loaded, with Oregon POY favorites [player_tooltip player_id='110178' first='Jack' last='Wagner'] and [player_tooltip player_id='206771' first='Will' last='Wilson'] returning. I like the Storm to compete here and make this a good football game.

McNary @ #5 Lakeridge LAK -41.5

McNary had a bunch of top athletes transfer and the Pacers are absolutely loaded. Lakeridge on paper looks like a TRL and 6A state title contender, but that still needs to be proven. This game should not be close.

Glencoe @ #6 Sheldon SHELD -30.5

One of the best Week 1 games last year was Sheldon's 36-29 win on the road against Glencoe. Head coach Ian Reynoso did a phenomenal job with his Crimson Tide group, but they lose all everything athlete Royce Fasel, who could have been Oregon's 6A POY. The Irish return everyone, including D1 QB [player_tooltip player_id='110187' first='Brock' last='Thomas'] and the state's #1 recruit in Duck commit [player_tooltip player_id='226949' first='Teitum' last='Tuioti'], who made the transfer from Nebraska.

David Douglas @ #7 Tigard TIG -26.5

It was a brutal year for the Tigers last season as a traditional top overall program, finishing (2-8). Their record was somewhat deceiving playing in the state's toughest conference. Look for Tigard to bounce back in a big way with double digit all conference athletes returning.

#8 Clackamas @ #10 Westview WV -1

I will be interested to see how the Cavs look after going (9-2) with losses to Central Catholic and Jesuit last season. The loss of 1st team all Mt Hood RB [player_tooltip player_id='147244' first='Luke' last='Ash'], now at Tualatin, does make a difference. The Wildcats return one of their best teams in years with D1 RB [player_tooltip player_id='110209' first='Jordan' last='Fisher'] and a legit line. One of the key variables here will be how does top 2025 prospect [player_tooltip player_id='285857' first='Nolan' last='Keeney'] play at QB, with 3* Washington St commit [player_tooltip player_id='110171' first='Sam' last='Leavitt'] making the move to West Linn. This could go either way.

Barlow @ #9 Lake Oswego LO -20

The Lakers graduate a super talented senior group, so they will have a bunch of young guys playing. Coach Coury is one of the best to EVER represent the state as they should still handle the Bruins.

#13 West Salem @ #11 Sherwood SHER -6

The Titans added a few guys and Coach Shawn Stanley is as good as they come. The Bowmen return 18 starters and a legit line. There are still numerous question marks, with a new staff and the loss of 2024 top recruit [player_tooltip player_id='152363' first='Nolen' last='Scott'], who bounced to Idaho. Expect this to be a phenomenal football game.

#14 Roseburg @ #16 Mountainside PICK EM

Reigning 6A Coach of the Year Dave Heuberger will bring his guys to Beaverton to take on one of the fastest rising programs in the state in Mountainside. The Indians were one of the state's great stories last year going (9-2), after losing 12 straight before that. They lose some talented seniors, but return one of the state's top lines with SWC POY [player_tooltip player_id='205815' first='Tiger' last='Black'] who will be a problem.
